Ceylonese Cricket Team In Pakistan In 1966–67
The Ceylon cricket team toured Pakistan in November 1966. Ceylon did not then have Test status, but three five-day unofficial Tests were played, Pakistan winning all three by large margins in only four days. The tour also included two other first-class matches before the unofficial Tests. Sri Lanka Cricket Team
The Sri Lanka men's national cricket team, ( si, ශ්රී ලංකා ජාතික ක්රිකට් කණ්ඩායම, ta, இலங்கை தேசிய கிரிக்கெட் அணி) nicknamed The Lions, represents Sri Lanka in men's international cricket. It is a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test, One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) status. Sarath Wimalaratne
Sarath Ransiri Wimalaratne (born 14 June 1942) is a former cricketer who played for Ceylon in the 1960s. He is now a physician in Sydney. Cricket career Wimalaratne attended Ananda College, where he captained the cricket team in 1962 and toured India with a Ceylon schools team. He then went to the University of Ceylon, where he studied medicine. He made his first-class debut in the Gopalan Trophy match in 1965–66, and was selected to tour Pakistan in 1966–67 with the Ceylon team. He played in all five first-class matches on the tour, including the three unofficial Tests against Pakistan. Although primarily an opening bowler, he achieved more with the bat on the tour. In the first match against Pakistan, batting at number 11, he top-scored with 41 not out in the first innings, while in the second match he opened the batting, scoring 28 and 27 and putting on 44 and 67 for the opening partnerships with Fitzroy Crozier, another bowler. Javed Burki
Javed Burki ( ur, ; born 8 May 1938) is a Pakistani former cricketer who played in 25 Test matches from 1960 to 1969 to eventually become an ICC match referee. Burki received his early education from Saint Mary's Academy at Rawalpindi. He also played cricket while studying at Oxford University (1958–1960). Javed Burki is the son of General Wajid Ali Khan Burki (1900–1988). General Burki's sister-in-law, Shaukat Khanum (Burki), was the mother of Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. Syed Saleem Altaf Bokhari (born 19 April 1944, Lahore, Punjab) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played in 21 Tests and 6 ODIs from 1967 to 1978. An opening bowler, Saleem Altaf played first-class cricket in Pakistan from 1963-64 to 1978-79. He toured England with the Pakistan team in 1967 and 1971, Australia and New Zealand in 1972-73, Australia in 1976-77, and West Indies in 1976-77. National Stadium, Karachi
The National Stadium (Urdu: نیشنل سٹیڈیم), also referred to as National Bank Cricket Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a cricket stadium in Karachi, Pakistan, owned by the Pakistan Cricket Board. It is the home ground of Karachi Kings and Karachi's many other domestic cricket teams. It is the largest cricket stadium in Pakistan with a capacity of 34,228 spectators. Saeed Ahmed ( ur, ; born 1 October 1937) is a Pakistani preacher and former cricketer who is the member of Tablighi Jamaat after retirement. Intikhab Alam
Intikhab Alam Khan (Urdu:) (born 28 December 1941) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played in 47 Test matches and four One Day Internationals from 1959 to 1977. He captained Pakistan in 17 Tests between 1969 and 1975. He also played in English county cricket for Surrey between 1969 and 1981. Prior to this Intikhab was professional for several years at West of Scotland Cricket Club in Glasgow and also coached at The Glasgow Academy. In August 1967, at the Oval, he joined Asif Iqbal for a ninth wicket stand of 190 runs. This remained as a World record for around 30 years. Mushtaq Mohammad
Mushtaq Mohammad PP (Urdu: مشتاق محمد; born 22 November 1943) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played in 57 Tests and 10 ODIs from 1959 to 1979. A right-handed batsman and a leg-spinner, he is one of the most successful Pakistani all-rounders and went on to captain his country in nineteen Test matches. He was the first and to date only Pakistani to score a century and take five wickets in an innings in the same test match twice.
