Cesare Cipollini
Cesare Cipollini (16 December 1958 – 10 August 2023) was an Italian cyclist. He competed in the team pursuit event at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Life and career The brother of the cyclist Mario, when he was still a junior cyclist, Cipollini competed in the team pursuit event at the 1976 Summer Olympics; the Italian team, also consisting of Giuseppe Saronni, Sandro Callari, and Rino De Candido, finished in eighth place, but in an earlier stage set the world record (4'24"00). Turned professional in 1978 with Magniflex-Torpado, he won the 1983 Giro dell'Emilia. The Vuelta a España (; en, Tour of Spain) is an annual multi-stage bicycle race primarily held in Spain, while also occasionally making passes through nearby countries. Inspired by the success of the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia, the race was first organised in 1935. The race was prevented from being run by the Spanish Civil War and World War II in the early years of its existence; however, the race has been held annually since 1955. Rai News 24 is an Italian free-to-air television channel owned and operated by state-owned public broadcaster RAI – Radiotelevisione italiana.
