Bernardino Cervi
Bernardino Cervi or Cerva was an Italian painter of the Baroque period. Native of Modena, and a scholar of Guido Reni. Bernhard Caboga-Cerva
Bernhard Caboga-Cerva ( hr, Bernard Kaboga, 6 February 1785 – 19 November 1855) was a count and general from the Austrian Empire. He was born in Dubrovnik in 1785 and was a descendant of the Ragusan family of Caboga. After graduating from an engineering academy, he was appointed oberlieutenant in the cartographic service in 1803 and assigned to the army of the Swedish Crown Prince in 1813. After diplomatic missions to the Joni Islands of Albania and Montenegro, he worked at Okkupation Neapels in 1821 and then with the Prince of Hessen Homburg in the Russian headquarters (1819–27). In 1824 he was appointed major, then in 1830, Oberstleutnant. After promotion to kommandant des mineur-korps, he was posted to the staff of the marshals Dibitsch and Paskević (1821–22), followed by detachments to the Dalmatians and the Bohmens as commander of the mineur corps (1835). Elio Lampridio Cerva
Elio Lampridio Cervino or Cerva (, sh, Ilija Crijević; 1463–1520) was a Ragusan poet who wrote in Latin. Life Cerva was born in 1463, belonging to one of the most important noble families of Ragusa, the House of Cerva. He spent several years in Rome, where he arrived still child, to succeed his uncle Stephan, ambassador to Pope Sixtus IV. Here, in the circle of Pomponio Leto, his poetic talent awoke. He studied ancient drama and made a study of the comedies of Plautus. It was in this period that he produced ''Lexicon'' (1480), an encyclopedic dictionary in Latin, 429 pages long and '' in quarto'' format (33 x 23 cm). He returned to Ragusa in 1490, and became a spokesman for the Republic. Finally, Cerva decided to withdraw to the Ombla river island, where he remained until his death in 1520. Giovan Battista Della Cerva
Giovan Battista della Cerva (c. 1515–1580) was an Italian painter. Born in Novara, he was a pupil of Gaudenzio Ferrari, of whom he became the main assistant and collaborator during the last stage of his career. Works entirely by della Cerva include a Polyptych in Santa Maria di Piazza at Busto Arsizio, two altarpieces in San Nazario in Brolo at Milan and the frescoes (together with Bernardino Lanino) in the St. Catherine chapel near the latter. Serafino Cerva ( hr, Serafin Crijević; 1696–1759), also known as Saro, was the author of ''Ragusan Library'', the first encyclopedia in the Dalmatian language, which comprised 435 biographies of ancient men and of the "Athens of the Adriatic" (Ragusa).
