Cornel Cernea
Cornel Cernea (born 22 April 1976) is a Romanian goalkeeping coach and former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. In his career, Cernea played for teams such as Petrolul Ploiești, Oțelul Galați, Steaua București or Unirea Alba Iulia, among others. Club career Cernea played for Grivița IRA until 1997, when he joined the Divizia B team Minerul Motru. In 1999, he returns to Grivița IRA but after only few weeks joins Petrolul Ploiești and makes Divizia A debut. In 2003, he joins Oțelul Galați for a couple of seasons, before being bought by Steaua București in 2005 for a fee of €75,000. His last team being Progresul Bucuresti he retired in 2014. Ion Cernea
Ion Cernea (born 21 October 1933) is a retired bantamweight Greco-Roman wrestler from Romania. Between 1960 and 1965 he earned two Olympic and two world championship medals, winning the world title in 1965. He retired the same year to become a wrestling coach and international referee, and was present in this capacity at all major international wrestling competitions between 1972 and 1988. Cernea is married to the singer Irina Loghin Irina Loghin (born February 19, 1939) is a Romanian singer and politician, known as the best-selling artist from her domain in Romania. Remus Cernea
Remus Cernea (; born June 25, 1974) is a Romanian activist against discrimination based on faith and religion, an advocate of the separation of church and state and the founder of the ''Solidarity for Freedom of Conscience Association''. From 2012 to 2016, he served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies. He was also president of the Green Party (PV). He ran in the 2009 Romanian presidential election, and was a candidate for Green Party (PV), gaining over 60,000 votes, or a share of 0.62% of the votes. In October 2010, he left the Green Party over ideological differences and created the Green Movement ( ro, Mișcarea Verzilor). Ruth Fredman Cernea (1934 – March 31, 2009) was an American cultural anthropologist, who dedicated virtually all her field research and writings to the analysis of Jewish culture and symbols, in various settings.
