Centre Region (Cameroon)
The Centre Region (french: région du Centre) occupies 69,000 km2 of the central plains of the Republic of Cameroon. It is bordered to the north by the Adamawa Region, to the south by the South Region, to the east by the East Region, and to the West by the Littoral and West Regions. It is the second largest (after East Region) of Cameroon's regions in land area. Major ethnic groups include the Bassa, Ewondo, and Vute. Yaoundé, capital of Cameroon, is at the heart of the Centre, drawing people from the rest of the country to live and work there. The Centre or the Région du Centre is a region within the province of Hainaut in Wallonia, Belgium. It is part of the Sillon industriel or industrial centre of Belgium. It is located between the cities of Mons (the Borinage), Charleroi and Thuin (the Pays Noir) and Brabant. Its most important town is La Louvière. Centre, Alabama
Centre is a city in Cherokee County, Alabama, United States. At the 2020 census, the population was 3,587. The city is the county seat of Cherokee County. History Cherokee County was created on January 9, 1836, and named for the Cherokee people who once lived in the area. The famous Cherokee chief Pathkiller lived in Turkeytown near the present town of Centre. In 1836 the newly founded town of Cedar Bluff became the county seat, but in 1844 the county seat was moved to the more centrally located town of Centre. The name was chosen, and carries the British English spelling, because of this central location in the county. In 2011, Centre began allowing the sale of alcoholic beverages, and is no longer a dry city. Centre Province is one of Burkina Faso's 13 administrative regions. The population of Centre Province was 1,727,390 at the 2006 census and increased by 75.6% in 13 years to 3,030,384 at the 2019 census (provisional figure), of which 50.8% was female.
