The Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League was a junior ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada, sanctioned by the Ontario Hockey Association. The "Central" played inter-league games with the Empire Junior "C" League. The champion of the Central competed for the All-Ontario Championship and the Clarence Schmalz Cup. The league is now a division in the Provincial Junior Hockey League. History In 1970, the Suburban Junior C Hockey League divided into two leagues. Most of the westerly teams formed the Mid-Ontario Junior B Hockey League, while most of the easterly teams formed the Central Lakeshore Junior C League. Eastern Ontario Junior B Hockey League
The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League is a Junior ice hockey league operating in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada and acts as a second tier to the Central Canada Hockey League. The 16 member teams of the league compete for the Barkley Cup. Dating back to the 1960s, the league was known until 2015 as the Eastern Ontario Junior B Hockey League. The League was known from 2015 to 2020 as the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2. History The EOJHL was founded in 1966 as the Rideau-St. Lawrence Junior "B" Hockey League. Little Britain, Ontario
Little Britain is a compact rural community in the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, Canada. It is located southwest of Lindsay. Formerly a part of Mariposa Township and Victoria County, Little Britain is now part of Ward 4, City of Kawartha Lakes. History Little Britain was established in 1834 by Harrison Haight who built the first mill in 1837. This mill, which stood until 1910, took nearly the whole countryside to build. At the time, there was no road that led from Little Britain to Oakwood, located to the north. The first church was built in 1850, followed by the Bible Church in 1852. The Post Office came in 1853. Names suggested for the town were ''Margaretville'', after Margaret Metherell, and ''Elm Grove'', proposed by the first postmaster, Robert Fergusson Whiteside. The latter was rejected by the post office because of duplication, so Whiteside named it after his place of origin, Little Britain, Pennsylvania. Little Britain Merchants
The Little Britain Merchants are a junior C ice hockey team based in Little Britain, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association until the 2016–17 season when the league became the Orr Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League. History The Little Britain Merchants were founded in 1978 as members of the Southern Counties Junior D Hockey League. In 1984, the Merchants move to the Central Lakeshore Junior C Hockey League. Two year later, the league merged with the Quinte-St. Lawrence Junior C Hockey League and formed the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League. The expansion of the Merchants was to fill the void left by the folding of the Stouffville Clippers. The Merchants advanced to the Central Lakeshore Final that season where they would be swept by the Bowmanville Eagles who went on to the Clarence Schmalz Cup semifinals. The Lakefield Chiefs are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association until the 2016-17 season when this league became the Orr Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League History The Lakefield Chiefs emerged in the late 1970s as members of the Eastern Junior D Hockey League. In the 1977-78 season, the Chiefs were Eastern league champions and faced off against the Western Ontario Junior D Hockey League Champions the Exeter Hawks. In a long and tight series, the Chiefs won game 7 and the series 4-games-to-3 to win their first OHA Cup as provincial champions. A year later, the Chiefs were again the Eastern league champions. Keswick (/ˈkɛzˌwɪk/) is a community located in the Canadian province of Ontario. Situated in Cook's Bay on Lake Simcoe, north of Toronto. Georgina Ice
The Georgina Ice are a Junior ice hockey team based in Keswick, Ontario, Canada. Starting with the 2016-17 season they play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League. Their prior league, the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association amalgamated with the other Southern Ontario junior hockey leagues. It then became the Orr Division in the East conference. History The Ice were founded in 1994. They have always played in the Central "C" league until the re-organization of junior "C" hockey in 2016-17 when the Ice became part of the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL). The Ice play most of their home games at the Georgina Ice Palace in Keswick. Each year they play a handful of games in Sutton at the Sutton Arena. Clarington (2021 population 101,427) is a lower-tier municipality in the Regional Municipality of Durham in Ontario, Canada. It was incorporated in 1973 as the town of Newcastle with the merging of the town of Bowmanville, the Village of Newcastle and the townships of Clarke and Darlington, and was established on January 1 1974. In 1993, the town was renamed Clarington, a portmanteau of the names of the two former townships. Bowmanville is the largest community in the municipality and is the home of the municipal offices. Clarington Eagles
The Clarington Eagles are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based in Clarington, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Orr Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League. History The Eagles were founded in 2011 to leave the gap in their community left by the folding of the Junior A Bowmanville Eagles. Bowmanville originated in Junior C from 1968 until 1995 and was promoted to Junior A. The team folded in 2010. The Eagles played their first game on September 23, 2011 in Uxbridge, Ontario. The Eagles dropped a 6-4 decision to the Uxbridge Bruins. Their first home game was on September 25, 2011, a 6-3 loss to the Bruins. On October 2, 2011, the Eagles won their first game, at home, 3-2 against the Little Britain Merchants. The Eagles' first season back in Junior C ended with a winning 19-18-3 record.
