Central Oklahoma Bronchos Football Seasons
The Central Oklahoma Bronchos college football team competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II, representing the University of Central Oklahoma in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The Bronchos have played their home games at Wantland Stadium in Edmond, Oklahoma since 1965. The Bronchos claim two national championships. They have also recorded 27 total conference championships, and three undefeated, untied seasons. The Central Oklahoma football program is one of the most successful programs in history, with 607 wins, which is fourth All-time among Division II programs. The Bronchos have played in the first Oklahoma Intercollegiate Conference, the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference, the second Oklahoma Intercollegiate Conference, at the NAIA level. Central Oklahoma Bronchos Football
The Central Oklahoma Bronchos football team represents the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in college football. The team is a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), which is in NCAA Division II, Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The UCO Bronchos football program began in 1902 and has since compiled over 600 wins, two national championships, and 26 conference championships. As of 2011, the Bronchos were ranked third in NCAA Division II for total wins and ranked 12th in winning percentage (0.621). In 1962, the Bronchos went 11–0 on the season and defeated Lenoir–Rhyne University (NC) 28–13 in the Camellia Bowl (1961–1980), Camellia Bowl to claim its first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, NAIA national championship. Charles W
The F/V ''Charles W'', also known as Annie J Larsen, is a historic fishing schooner anchored in Petersburg, Alaska. At the time of its retirement in 2000, it was the oldest fishing vessel in the fishing fleet of Southeast Alaska, and the only known wooden fishing vessel in the entire state still in active service. Launched in 1907, she was first used in the halibut fisheries of Puget Sound and the Bering Sea as the ''Annie J Larsen''. In 1925 she was purchased by the Alaska Glacier Seafood Company, refitted for shrimp trawling, and renamed ''Charles W'' in honor of owner Karl Sifferman's father. The company was one of the pioneers of the local shrimp fishery, a business it began to phase out due to increasing competition in the 1970s. The ''Charles W'' was the last of the company's fleet of ships, which numbered twelve at its height. The boat was acquired in 2002 by the nonprofit Friends of the ''Charles W''.
