Central Kitsap High School
Central Kitsap High School is a secondary school located in Silverdale, Washington, United States. It is one of seven secondary schools in the Central Kitsap School District. CKHS teaches grades 09-12. CKHS was for the first time ranked in the top 2% of the nation academically in 2002 and has continued to be through the 2015–2016 school year. CKHS has also garnered two Washington Achievement Awards for closing the Achievement Gap, and has also appeared regularly in the U.S. News & World Report as a nationally ranked school (Data complications with the move to adding ninth graders in 2014–2015 have led to an erroneous omission for the 2016 list). Silverdale is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kitsap County, Washington, in the United States. The population was 19,204 at the 2010 census. Despite many attempts at incorporation, Silverdale remains an unincorporated community. Silverdale ranks 158th among 522 areas in Washington for which per capita income data is collected. Geography Silverdale is located on the Kitsap Peninsula at (47.659410, -122.676630). It is south of the US Navy Trident Missile Base Kitsap, northwest of the city of Bremerton and the same distance south of Poulsbo. Joe Sullivan (pitcher)
Joe Sullivan (September 26, 1910 – April 8, 1985), was a left-handed American baseball pitcher. Sullivan played professional baseball from 1931 to 1949, including five seasons in Major League Baseball with the Detroit Tigers (1935–36), Boston Bees / Braves (1939–41), and Pittsburgh Pirates (1941). In five major league seasons, he compiled a record of 30–37 with a 4.01 earned run average (ERA). A knuckleball specialist, Sullivan once pitched 12 straight scoreless innings as a relief pitcher. Early years Sullivan was born in 1910 in Mason City, Illinois. His family moved west, initially to Twin Falls, Idaho, and then to Tracyton, Washington, where his father went to work in the shipyards. Todd Anthony "Moose" Linden (born June 30, 1980) is an American former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Francisco Giants and Florida Marlins; and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. Troy Kelly (born August 2, 1978) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. Amateur career Kelly became the youngest player to ever compete in Washington State Junior Golf Association (WJGA) tournaments at the age of 6. He was the WJGA state champion at age 11 and 13.
