Central City Reds
The Central City Reds were a minor league baseball team based in Central City, Kentucky. In 1954, the Central City Reds played a partial season as members of the Class D level Kentucky–Illinois–Tennessee League, hosting home games at the Central City Municipal Park. The 1954 Jackson Generals had a record of 1–44, with 26 consecutive losses when the team was relocated to Central City during the season. History Central City, Kentucky first hosted minor league baseball in 1954, when the Central City "Reds" became members of the eight–team Class D level Kentucky–Illinois–Tennessee League, known informally as the KITTY League. Central City joined the league during the season. The "Reds" moniker possibly originated when the Jackson Generals played as an affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds in 1953. Hopkinsville Hoppers
The Hopkinsville Hoppers were a baseball team based in Hopkinsville, Kentucky between 1904 and 1954. The team initially played as the "Browns" in 1904, before adopting the "Hoppers" moniker. Hopkinsville teams played as exclusively as members of the Kentucky–Illinois–Tennessee League in 1904–1905, 1910–1914, 1916, 1922–1923, 1935–1942, 1946–1954. Hopkinsville was affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers (AA) from 1937 to 1939; Chicago Cubs 1946; Philadelphia A's 1953–1954. Today, the "Hoppers" team moniker has been adopted by the summer collegiate baseball wood-bat team that plays as a member of the Ohio Valley League, after the current team was founded in 2012. Thomas Arthur Giordano (October 9, 1925 – February 14, 2019) was an American professional baseball baseball player, player, scout (sport), scout, front-office executive and minor league baseball, minor-league player-manager. In , at age 92 and in his 71st season in organized baseball, he worked as a scout and special assistant to the general manager (baseball), general manager of the Atlanta Braves. He was an infielder during his 12-year active playing career (1948–59), and appeared in 11 games in Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Athletics. Tony Lucadello
Anthony Lucadello (July 30, 1912 – May 8, 1989) was a professional baseball scout for the Chicago Cubs (1943–1957) and Philadelphia Phillies (1957–1989). During his career, he signed a total of 52 players who made it to the Major Leagues, most notably Hall of Famers Ferguson Jenkins and Mike Schmidt. His total number of Major League signings is considered to be unsurpassed, and some have called him perhaps the greatest scout ever. The Paducah Chiefs are a collegiate summer baseball team in Paducah, Kentucky. They are a member of the Ohio Valley League. The Chiefs has been the primary nickname for various Paducah teams, who began play in 1897.
