Centennial High School (CHS) is a public high school located in Gresham, Oregon, United States. Academics In 1989, Centennial High School was honored in the Blue Ribbon Schools Program, the highest honor a school can receive in the United States. In 2008, 76% of the school's seniors received a high school diploma. Of 411 students, 311 graduated, 73 dropped out, eight received a Oregon modified high school diploma, modified diploma, and 19 were still in high school in 2009. In 2012, Kevin Ricker was named the Oregon High School Principal of the Year. Along with making other improvements in the school, he was awarded this title primarily for leading CHS students to raise both reading and math test scores by 12% in one year. Gresham, Oregon
Gresham ( ) is a city located in Multnomah County, Oregon, in the United States of America, immediately east of Portland, Oregon. It is considered a suburb within the Greater Portland Metropolitan area. Though it began as a settlement in the mid-1800s, it was not officially incorporated as a city until 1905; it was named after Walter Quintin Gresham, the American Civil War general and United States Secretary of State. The city's early economy was sustained largely by farming, and by the mid-20th century the city experienced a population boom, growing from 4,000 residents to over 10,000 between 1960 and 1970. Nico Santos (born April 7, 1979) is a Filipino-American actor known for portraying Oliver T'sien in ''Crazy Rich Asians'' and sales associate Mateo Liwanag in the NBC series '' Superstore''. Miss America
Miss America is an annual competition that is open to women from the United States between the ages of 17 and 25. Originating in 1921 as a "bathing beauty revue", the contest is now judged on competitors' talent performances and interviews. As of 2018, there is no longer a swimsuit portion to the contest, or consideration of physical appearance. Miss America travels about 20,000 miles a month, changing her location every 24 to 48 hours, touring the nation and promoting her particular platform of interest. Katie Marie Harman Ebner (born August 18, 1980) is an American classical vocalist and actress who won the Miss America 2002 and Miss Oregon 2001 pageants. She is the first and only contestant from the Pacific Northwestern United States to hold the title of Miss America. Robert Garrigus (born November 11, 1977) is an American professional golfer who is currently a member of the PGA Tour. He won the 2010 Children's Miracle Network Classic, the last event of the PGA Tour season, to guarantee exempt status on the PGA Tour through the end of the 2012 season. Marco Antonio Farfan (born November 12, 1998) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a left-back for Major League Soccer club FC Dallas.
