Emanuel Celler
Emanuel Celler (May 6, 1888 – January 15, 1981) was an American politician from New York who served in the United States House of Representatives for almost 50 years, from March 1923 to January 1973. He served as the dean of the United States House of Representatives from 1965 to 1973. Celler was particularly involved in issues relating to the judiciary and immigration. A member of the Democratic Party, Celler strongly supported help for Jewish refugees fleeing Europe during World War II. As Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee for all but two years between 1949 and 1973, he ushered the major civil rights legislation of the era through the House. His district was based in Brooklyn and Queens. In the early 1970s, Celler took a position in opposition to the women's Equal Rights Amendment. He was defeated in the 1972 primary by Elizabeth Holtzman, becoming the most senior Representative ever to lose a primary. He ranks as the longest-serving New York member of Congress ever. ... Miroslav Celler (7 May 1991 – 7 January 2023) was a Slovak professional squash player. He reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 178 in April 2015. Celler was raised in Bratislava's municipal borough of Petržalka. Celler was an alumni of Haanova Street Gymnázium and he graduated from Slovak University of Technology Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU) ( sk, Slovenská technická univerzita v Bratislave) is the biggest and oldest university of technology in Slovakia. Celle Castle
Celle Castle (german: Schloss Celle) or, less commonly, Celle Palace, in the German town of Celle in Lower Saxony, was one of the residences of the House of Brunswick-Lüneburg. This quadrangular building is the largest castle in the southern Lüneburg Heath region. History Celle Castle is based on a fortified wall tower (''Wehrturm'') with the character of a water castle, that guarded a ford over the River Aller. This first fortification, called ''Kellu'', was built by a Brunonen count around 980 AD. Another forerunner of the castle, which may have been an extension of the wall tower, was founded in 1292 by Otto the Strict. The cellar vault and the lower stories of the watch tower have survived to the present day. Its ruins lie underneath the castle theatre. Around 1315 the actual ''Castrum Celle'' was first recorded.
