Cecil Frail Stakes
The Cecil Frail Stakes is a Listed flat horse race in Great Britain open to mares and fillies aged three years or older. It is run at Haydock Park over a distance of 6 furlongs (1,206 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in May. The race was first run in 1999. Until 1996 the name Cecil Frail was given to a rated handicap at the same course. Conditions Races
Conditions races are horse races in which the weights carried by the runners are laid down by the conditions attached to the race. Weights are allocated according to the sex of the runners, with female runners carrying less weight than males; the age of the runners, with younger horses receiving weight from older runners to allow for relative maturity, referred to as weight for age; and the quality of the runners, with horses that have won certain values of races giving weight to less successful entrants. Conditions races are distinct from handicap races, for which the weights carried are laid down by an official handicapper to equalise the difference in ability between the runners. In Great Britain, for example, the British Horseracing Authority's rules define a conditions race as being one "which is none of the following; a Handicap Race or a Novice Race, a race restricted to Maiden Horses, or a race governed by Selling or Claiming provisions." Tante Rose
Tante Rose (foaled 10 April 2000) was an Irish-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare best known for her performances over sprint distances. She won a maiden race on her second start as a two-year-old and then took the Fred Darling Stakes on her three-year-old debut but failed to win again in 2003. In the following year she was unbeaten in three races, winning the Cecil Frail Stakes and the Summer Stakes before ending her racing career with a victory in the Haydock Sprint Cup. Background Tante Rose was a bay mare with a white blaze bred in Ireland by her owner, Wafic Said's Addison Racing. She was sent into training with Barry Hills at Lambourn in Berkshire, and was ridden in most of her races by her trainer's son Michael Hills. Luke Morris
Luke Morris (born 20 October 1988) is an English jockey who competes in flat racing. Jeremy Noseda
Jeremy Noseda (born 17 September 1963) is a retired British racehorse trainer. After six years working for John Dunlop, and five years as assistant to John Gosden, he joined Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin operation in late 1993, and played a significant role in training such horses as Lammtarra, Halling and Balanchine. Noseda started training under his own name in January 1996, initially in California, then returning to Britain in late 1997. He is based at the Shalfleet stables in Newmarket formerly occupied by Paul Kelleway. He enjoyed his first Classic victory when Araafa won the Irish 2,000 Guineas in 2006. His first triumph in an English Classic came the same year with Sixties Icon winning the St Leger at York.
