Cayetana Álvarez De Toledo
Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo y Peralta-Ramos, 15th Marchioness of Casa Fuerte, MP (born 15 October 1974 in Madrid) is a Spanish journalist, historian, and politician of the People's Party. She has served as Member of the Congress of Deputies since 21 May 2019 for Barcelona and was Spokesperson of her party in Congress until 21 August 2020. She is of French—Argentine descent. She was the Member of Congress for the constituency of Madrid in the 9th and 10th Legislatures of the Cortes Generales. She is the current Director of International Relations of FAES. Since her return to journalism she has written for the daily newspaper ''El Mundo''. Biography Álvarez de Toledo was born in Madrid to a French father and an Argentine mother. Congress Of Deputies (Spain)
The Congress of Deputies ( es, link=no, Congreso de los Diputados, italic=unset) is the lower house of the Cortes Generales, Spain's legislative branch. The Congress meets in the Palace of the Parliament () in Madrid. It has 350 members elected by constituencies (matching fifty Spanish provinces and two autonomous cities) by closed list proportional representation using the D'Hondt method. Deputies serve four-year terms. The presiding officer is the President of the Congress of Deputies, who is elected by the members thereof. It is the analogue to a speaker. In the Congress, MPs from the political parties, or groups of parties, form parliamentary groups. Groups must be formed by at least 15 deputies, but a group can also be formed with only five deputies if the parties got at least 5% of the nationwide vote, or 15% of the votes in the constituencies in which they ran. 2011 Spanish General Election
The 2011 Spanish general election was held on Sunday, 20 November 2011, to elect the 10th Cortes Generales of the Kingdom of Spain. All 350 seats in the Congress of Deputies were up for election, as well as 208 of 266 seats in the Senate. An election had not been due until April 2012 at latest, but a call by Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero for a snap election five months ahead of schedule was announced on 29 July 2011. Zapatero would not be seeking a third term in office, and with political pressure mounting, a deteriorating economic situation and his political project exhausted, an early election was perceived as the only way out. Northlands School
Northlands School is a co-educational, non-denominational bilingual school with campuses in Olivos, Buenos Aires Province, Olivos and Nordelta, Argentina. History Northlands School was founded in 1920 by two English women, Winifred May Brightman and Muriel Ivy Slater, who had come to Argentina as governesses. Northlands opened with 16 students, both boys and girls, but three years later it stopped taking boys. Subsequently, it became a leading girls' boarding and day school popular with the diplomatic corps. In the 1990s the school became co-educational.
