''Captive'' ( es, Cautiva) is a 2003 Argentinian film that concerns itself with what happened to the children of the people killed after the 1970s military coup. The film states it was made with the support of Argentine National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts. ''Captive'' was an award winner at the 2003 San Sebastian Film Festival. Hugo Arana
Hugo Arana (23 July 1943 – 11 October 2020) was an Argentine film, television, and theatre actor. Life Arana was born on 23 July 1943. He grew up in Monte Grande where his parents were farmers and moved with his family to Lomas de Zamora and then Lanús. He studied acting with Marcello Lavalle and Augusto Fernandes. In his first years as an actor, he was part of a theatre group called "Errare Humanum Est" and he acted in films such as ''El Santo de la Espada'' (1970) and '' La tregua'' (1974). ''The Official Story'' ( es, La historia oficial) is a 1985 Argentine drama historical film directed by Luis Puenzo and written by Puenzo and Aída Bortnik. The Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo is an Argentine human rights association formed in response to the National Reorganization Process, the military dictatorship by Jorge Rafael Videla, with the goal of finding the ''desaparecidos'', initially, and then determining the culprits of crimes against humanity to promote their trial and sentencing. The Mothers began demonstrating in the Plaza de Mayo, the public square located in front of the Casa Rosada presidential palace, in the city of Buenos Aires, on April 30, 1977, to petition for the alive reappearance of their disappeared children. Originally, they would remain there seated, but by declaring state of emergency, police expelled them from the public square.
