Causeway Point is the seventh largest suburban shopping mall in Singapore. It is operated by Frasers Property. Causeway Point is located in the town centre of Woodlands, a town in the North of Singapore. Completed in 1998, it is located beside the Woodlands MRT station and the underground Woodlands Bus Interchange. It has 250 retail outlets spread over five floors and a basement. History Causeway Point was completed in November 1998 as the first major shopping mall to open in Woodlands, therefore officially opened on 30 May 1999. Back then, it had a 10 screen cineplex operated by Studio Cinemas, which was taken over by Cathay as the former went bust, and was reduced to 7 screens in 2001, John Little and Metro department stores, a Cold Storage supermarket, a Courts store and more than 250 specialty shops. Woodlands () is a planning area and residential town located in the North of Singapore. As of 2019, the town has a population of 254,733. It is the densest planning area and is the regional centre for the North Region of the country. Food Republic () is a food court chain run by the BreadTalk Group based in Singapore. CEO of Food Republic is Mr. Jenson Ong. The concept combines local hawker centre, hawker fare with mini restaurants (some of which have exclusive seating) in an open dining concept. Some stalls are also run from standalone pushcarts. Sun Plaza () is a mixed used residential and commercial development located along Sembawang Drive in the heart of Sembawang, Singapore, between Sembawang MRT station and Sembawang Bus Interchange. It is one of the two shopping malls in Sembawang, serving the needs of the local residents. History Sun Plaza was developed as a joint venture between Koh Brothers and Heeton Holdings and was completed in November 1999. Like other suburban malls at that time, it had an Eng Wah cinema, an NTUC FairPrice supermarket, the Sembawang Public Library, the local post office, a Kopitiam food court and 93 specialty shops. Northpoint City, formerly known as Northpoint Shopping Centre, is a suburban shopping mall in Yishun, Singapore. Located opposite Yishun MRT station, the mall houses the Nee Soon Central Community Club, Yishun Public Library as well as the Yishun Bus Interchange, which forms part of the Yishun Integrated Transport Hub (ITH). The mall was first built in 1992, and was renovated and expanded in 2010. It susbeqeuently underwent a second renovation and expansion from 2017 to 2018. Woodlands MRT Station
Woodlands MRT station is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North South (NSL) and Thomson–East Coast (TEL) lines in Singapore. Located in Woodlands, the MRT station was the first to feature an underground bus interchange underneath the NSL station. The station is also integrated with surrounding developments, including Causeway Point and the Woodlands Civic Centre. The NSL station was first announced in November 1991 as part of the Woodlands MRT extension. John Little was a former chain of department stores in Singapore. Established in 1845, John Little was the oldest department store in Singapore. The John Little chain was acquired and owned by Robinson & Co. Limited in 1955. History In 1842, John Martin Little worked for his uncle Francis S. Martin who started a retail business at Commercial Square (now Raffles Place). In 1845, Francis S. Martin sold his business to Little and Cursetjee Frommurze to form Little, Cursetjee & Co.. Cursetjee Frommurze was a well-known Parsee merchant.
