Cattle Town
''Cattle Town'' is a 1952 American Western film directed by Noel M. Smith and written by Thomas W. Blackburn. The film stars Dennis Morgan, Philip Carey, Amanda Blake, Rita Moreno, Paul Picerni and Ray Teal. The film was released by Warner Bros. on September 6, 1952. Plot Mike McGann is sent by a government official in Texas to help rich rancher Judd Hastings get squatters off his land. When he arrives, he realizes Hastings is actually running everyone out of the region and illegally seizing their cattle. After coming to rancher Ben Curran's rescue, Mike vows to help others get their property back. Marian Hastings begins to realize that her father is in the wrong, particularly after learning he plans a stampede to disrupt Mike and the others. Thrown from her horse and knocked unconscious, Marian is in grave danger. Hastings tries to save his daughter and is killed. She and Mike decide to run the Hastings ranch together. Jay Novello (born Michael Romano, August 22, 1904 – September 2, 1982) was an American radio, film, and television character actor. Early life Novello was born in Chicago to Joseph Romano and Maria (Salemme) Romano. He had three siblings: John, Joseph, and Theresa (later Mrs. Rizzo). Radio career Novello began his 47-year acting career in the 1930s, performing as a character on radio. He played Jack Packard on the Hollywood version of '' I Love a Mystery'' for a brief period during the mid-1940s. He sometimes employed accents in voicing supporting characters. Mervyn Edward Griffin Jr. (July 6, 1925 – August 12, 2007) was an American television show host and media mogul. He began his career as a radio and big band singer, later appearing in film and on Broadway. From 1965 to 1986 he hosted his own talk show, ''The Merv Griffin Show''. Charles Meredith (actor)
Charles Meredith (August 27, 1894 – November 28, 1964) was an American film and television actor. Biography Meredith was born in Knoxville, Pennsylvania. He was a popular silent film leading man and played opposite such actresses as Blanche Sweet, Mary Miles Minter, Florence Vidor, and others in romantic drama and comedy films. In 1924, he left his film career for work on the stage. He returned to film in 1947 where he played a number of small character roles. Toward the end of his career, he turned to television as well, notably as Secretary Drake in the ''Rocky Jones, Space Ranger'' (1954) series. He also appeared in three episodes of ''The Lone Ranger'', each time as a doctor, including the "Cannonball McKay" (1949) episode (1/16) as Doc Tate. He died, aged 70 in 1964, in Los Angeles, California.
