Catolechia
''Catolechia'' is a genus of lichen-forming fungi in the family Rhizocarpaceae. It is a monotypic genus, containing the single species ''Catolechia wahlenbergii''. The genus was circumscribed by German botanist Julius von Flotow in 1850. He did not assign a type species for the genus; ''Catolechia pulchella'' was designated as the type by Gustav Wilhelm Körber in 1855. This species is synonymous with ''Catolechia wahlenbergii''. Several species that were originally described as a member of ''Catolechia'' have since been transferred to other genera. Examples include: *''Catolechia flavovirescens'' = '' Arthrorhaphis citrinella'' *''Catolechia glomerulans'' = '' Monerolechia glomerulans'' *''Catolechia lactea'' = '' Buellia lactea'' *''Catolechia marginulata'' = '' Buellia marginulata'' *''Catolechia moriopsis'' = '' Orphniospora moriopsis'' *''Catolechia pyxinoides'' = '' Pyxine pyxinoides'' *''Catolechia subcoronata'' = '' Buellia subcoronata'' *''Catolechia tenuis'' = ' ...

Monotypic Lecanoromycetes Genera
In biology, a monotypic taxon is a taxonomic group (taxon) that contains only one immediately subordinate taxon. A monotypic species is one that does not include subspecies or smaller, infraspecific taxa. In the case of genera, the term "unispecific" or "monospecific" is sometimes preferred. In botanical nomenclature, a monotypic genus is a genus in the special case where a genus and a single species are simultaneously described. In contrast, an oligotypic taxon contains more than one but only a very few subordinate taxa. Examples Just as the term ''monotypic'' is used to describe a taxon including only one subdivision, the contained taxon can also be referred to as monotypic within the higher-level taxon, e.g. a genus monotypic within a family. Some examples of monotypic groups are: Plants * In the order Amborellales, there is only one family, Amborellaceae and there is only one genus, '' Amborella'', and in this genus there is only one species, namely ''Amborella trichopoda ...

Lichen Genera
A lichen ( , ) is a composite organism that arises from algae or cyanobacteria living among filaments of multiple fungi species in a mutualistic relationship.Introduction to Lichens – An Alliance between Kingdoms
. University of California Museum of Paleontology.
Lichens have properties different from those of their component organisms. They come in many colors, sizes, and forms and are sometimes plant-like, but are not s. They may have tiny, leafless branches (); flat leaf-like structures (

Species Fungorum
''Index Fungorum'' is an international project to index all formal names (scientific names) in the fungus kingdom. the project is based at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, one of three partners along with Landcare Research and the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is somewhat comparable to the International Plant Names Index (IPNI), in which the Royal Botanic Gardens is also involved. A difference is that where IPNI does not indicate correct names, the ''Index Fungorum'' does indicate the status of a name. In the returns from the search page a currently correct name is indicated in green, while others are in blue (a few, aberrant usages of names are indicated in red). All names are linked to pages giving the correct name, with lists of synonyms. ''Index Fungorum'' is one of three nomenclatural repositories recognized by the Nomenclature Committee for Fungi; the others are ''MycoBank'' and ''Fungal Names''. Bellemerea Alpina
''Bellemerea alpina'', the brown sunken disk lichen, is a white to pale tan, thick crustose areolate lichen that grows on rock in the mountains worldwide. It grows in arctic-alpine habitats in Eurasia, North America (south to California and Arizona), Australia, and New Zealand.Field Guide to California Lichens, Stephen Sharnoff, Yale University Press, 2014, Areoles are sometimes contiguous and sometimes dispersed. It often has very visible black prothallus. The brown to tan apothecia have a purplish tinge and are grayed by a pruinose coating, and embedded in the areoles, giving a similar appearance to members of the genus ''Aspicilia ''Aspicilia'' (sunken disk lichen) is a genus of mostly crustose areolate lichens that grow on rock. Buellia Subcoronata
''Buellia'' is a genus of mostly lichen-forming fungi in the family Caliciaceae. The fungi are usually part of a crustose lichen. In this case, the lichen species is given the same name as the fungus. But members may also grow as parasites on lichens (lichenicolous). The algae in the lichen (the photobiont partner) is always a member of the genus ''Trebouxia''. Lichens in the genus are commonly called disc lichens, or button lichens.Field Guide to California Lichens, Stephen Sharnoff, Yale University Press, 2014, The genus has a widespread distribution and contains about 450 species. Genetic studies indicate that the genus ''Amandinea'' and ''Buellia'' may be the same,Scheidegger, C. 2009. Amandinea Choisy ex Scheid. & H. Mayrhofer (1993). In: C. W. Smith, A. Aptroot, B. J.
