Cathlia Ward
Cathlia Mary Ward (born May 14, 1994) is a Canadian curler. She currently plays lead on Team Amélie Blais. Career Juniors Ward's first national level event was at the 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships as third for Jessica Daigle. There, her team went 4–6 threw the round robin and championship pool, missing the playoffs. She returned the following year with the same team as in 2013 and they once again went 4–6. She was the alternate for Corryn Brown at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships where the team went 3–6. Women's Out of juniors, Ward joined the Melissa Adams rink at second. They competed in local World Curling Tour events with their best finish at the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic where they won the title. At the 2016 New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the team made it all the way to the final where they just came up short to Team Robichaud. Melissa Adams (born December 16, 1977 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick as Melissa McClure) is a Canadian curler from Hanwell, New Brunswick. She currently skips her own team. She is a former Canadian and World Junior champion skip. Career Juniors Adams first national championship appearance was at the 1995 Canada Winter Games where she played for New Brunswick, winning a bronze medal. She also won two New Brunswick High School championships in 1993 and 1994. Adams would then go on to skip New Brunswick at three straight Canadian Junior Curling Championships. At the 1996 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, Adams led her New Brunswick team of Nancy Toner, Brigitte McClure and Bethany Toner to a 6–6 round robin record, missing the playoffs. The 2020 New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for New Brunswick, was held from January 23–26 at the Riverside Golf and Curling Club in Rothesay, New Brunswick. The winning Andrea Crawford rink represented New Brunswick at the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and finished with a 4–4 record. The Steele Cup Cash is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, held at the Capital Winter Club in Fredericton, New Brunswick. It was part of the Men's and Women's World Curling Tour in 2018 and 2019, and is now just a tour event. The tournament is held in a round robin format. The 2019 Newfoundland and Labrador Women's Curling Championship, the women's provincial curling championship for Newfoundland and Labrador, was held from January 10 to 12 at the Bally Haly Golf & Curling Club in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Sarah Mallais (born January 11, 1989 as Sarah Berthelot) is a Canadian curler from Moncton, New Brunswick. She currently plays third on Team Sylvie Quillian. Career In her junior years, Mallais represented New Brunswick at the 2007 Canada Games. The team narrowly missed the playoffs, finishing with a 3–2 record. She also represented NB at the 2006 Canadian Junior Curling Championships where the team went 5–6. Mallais lost the final of the 2009 provincial championship as second for Mary Jane McGuire. She played in the 2010 Sobeys Slam as lead for the Melissa Adams rink. They won no games and finished 0–3 in the triple knockout. Jillian Elizabeth Babin (born November 7, 1989) is a Canadian curler from Fredericton, New Brunswick. She currently plays second on Team Andrea Crawford. She has won five New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts and represented New Brunswick at the 2007 Canada Winter Games. Career Juniors Babin won one provincial junior title in 2009 as third for Ashley Howard. Kerry Galusha (born Kerry Koe on November 3, 1977) is a Canadian curler. She currently skips her team out of the Yellowknife Curling Club in Yellowknife. Career Juniors Galusha's first national experience was at the 1992 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. She was the fifth player for Janet Sian. The team would finish in eleventh place with a 2-9 record. She would return to the junior championships again in 1993, this time playing third stones for Tara Hamer. The team would finish in tenth place with a 2-9 record. The team would return again in 1994, finishing with a 5-6 record. 2017 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts was held from February 16 to 26 at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario. The Rachel Homan rink, representing Ontario, won their third national title; with Homan becoming the youngest skip, man or woman, to ever win three national championships. Her team represented Canada at the 2017 World Women's Curling Championship in Beijing from March 18 to 26. The 2017 New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship of New Brunswick was held January 25 to 29 at the Miramichi Curling Club in Miramichi, New Brunswick. The winning Melissa Adams team represented New Brunswick at the 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in St. Catharines, Ontario. Melissa Adams of Fredericton would win her first ever provincial Scotties title. She had previously won the 1998 World Junior Curling Championships. Adams had scored four points in the sixth end to defeat Saint John, New Brunswick, Saint John's Sarah Mallais rink in the final by a score of 9-6. The Adams rink represented New Brunswick at the national Scotties, where they had to compete in a pre-qualifying tournament against the Yukon, Nunavut and Northwest Territories to enter the main event. Sylvie Quillian (born June 18, 1980 as Sylvie Robichaud) is a Canadian curler from Riverview, New Brunswick. She has won four New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts and was the New Brunswick provincial junior champion from 1999–2001. Career Juniors Quillian skipped the New Brunswick team at three straight Canadian Junior Curling Championships from 1999–2001. She had a 6–6 sixth place finish in 1999 and a 4–8 eleventh place finish in 2000. Her best finish came in 2001 where she finished with a 7–5 record, just missing the playoffs. Women's Quillian won her first New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 2008 with teammates Danielle Nicholson, Marie Richard and Julie Carrier.
