Catherine Ferrar (born October 22, 1946) is an American television actress. She is mostly known for playing the character of Julie Olson Williams on ''Days of Our Lives'' in 1967–1968 (before Susan Seaforth-Hayes) and for the lead role of Nancy Murphy in the show '' The Sixth Sense'' with Gary Collins. Julie Olson Williams is a fictional character and member of the Horton family on the NBC daytime drama, ''Days of Our Lives'', a long running serial about working class life in the fictional town of Salem. The character of Julie was introduced as a 16-year-old when the show premiered in 1965, with 19-year-old Charla Doherty being the first actress to play Julie. The role is unsuccessfully recast twice with Catherine Dunn in 1967, followed by Catherine Ferrar from 1967 until 1968. The role is then taken over by actress Susan Seaforth Hayes in 1968, who still portrays the character to this day. Julie is the last remaining character from the pilot, and Hayes the earliest-appearing actor to currently appear on the serial. Susan Seaforth Hayes (born Susan Seabold; July 11, 1943) is an American dramatic actress. She is best known for her portrayal of Julie Williams on the NBC drama ''Days of Our Lives'', and her intermittent portrayal of Joanna Manning on the CBS daytime drama '' The Young and the Restless''. She began playing the role of Julie on ''Days of Our Lives'' in 1965, and is the only actor to appear on the show for all seven decades it has been on the air. Gary Ennis Collins (April 30, 1938 – October 13, 2012) was an American actor and television host. Throughout his career, he won a Daytime Emmy Award in 1984 and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1985. Early life and education Collins was born in Venice, California. He was raised there by a single mother, who was a waitress and factory worker. Gary attended Venice High School and graduated with the class of 1955. After attending Santa Monica College, he went into the United States Army. Early career Collins enlisted in the Army and served in Europe, where he was a radio and television performer for the Armed Forces Network.
