Ian Cathcart
Ian Cathcart (born 14 February 1982) is a New Zealand former professional basketball player and current head coach of the Waitaki Boys Basketball Academy. Basketball career Born in Oamaru, North Otago, Cathcart attended Waitaki Boys' High School from 1995 to 1999 and was part of the North Otago Penguins squad which won the Conference Basketball League (CBL) championship in 2000. He played in the NBL from 2000 to 2003 while at the same time attending and playing for Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas from 2001 to 2005. He graduated from Lyon with a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Human Resource Management, and a Bachelor of Economics. After playing in Ireland for the Shamrock Rovers in 2005–06, Cathcart returned to New Zealand and played locally in Oamaru. Timothy Cathcart
Timothy Cathcart (7 July 1994 – 15 August 2014) was a Northern Irish rally driver from Enniskillen who was killed at the 2014 Todds Leap Ulster Rally, a round of the 2014 British Rally Championship season, after his car, a Citroën DS3 R3T left the road and crashed near Fivemiletown. Timothy was from a family steeped in rallying history and started his rallying career in the Rallysport Association Championship, competing in a Vauxhall Nova and winning a number of events in his class. He was into his second year in the British Rally Championship and was tipped to be a future talent in British and potentially World Rallying. Cathcart's co-driver Dai Roberts was injured and airlifted to a Belfast hospital but made a full recovery. Samuel Woodrow Cathcart (July 7, 1924 – April 3, 2015) was an American football halfback and defensive back who played for the San Francisco 49ers. He played college football at the University of California, Santa Barbara, having previously attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California. Jane Cathcart (born Jane Hamilton; 19 August 1726 – 13 November 1771) was the wife of Lord Cathcart the British ambassador to Russia. James Leander Cathcart (1 June 1767 – 6 October 1843) was an Irish-American diplomat, slave, and sailor. He is notable for his narrative as a slave in Algiers for eleven years. Revolutionary War Cathcart was born in Mount Murragh, County Westmeath, Ireland and emigrated to the North American colonies at eight years of age, under the care of a relative, Captain John Cathcart. He joined the American Revolution and at the age of twelve served on a privateer. Three years later, as a midshipman on ''The Confederacy'', he was captured by the British and imprisoned on the prisoner ships, ''The Good Hope'' and from which he escaped in 1782.
