Catharina Van Der Sloot
Catharina Hendrica "Sabrina" van der Sloot (born 16 March 1991) is a Dutch water polo player for CN Sabadell and the Dutch national team. She participated at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships. After winning the 2018 Women's European Water Polo Championship Sabrina was elected most valuable player of the tournament. She participated at the 2020 Women's European Water Polo Championship. Gouda, South Holland
Gouda () is a city and municipality in the west of the Netherlands, between Rotterdam and Utrecht, in the province of South Holland. Gouda has a population of 75,000 and is famous for its Gouda cheese, stroopwafels, many grachten, smoking pipes, and its 15th-century city hall. Its array of historic churches and other buildings makes it a very popular day trip destination. In the Middle Ages, a settlement was founded at the location of the current city by the Van der Goude family, who built a fortified castle alongside the banks of the Gouwe River, from which the family and the city took its name. The 2014 Women's European Water Polo Championship was held from 16 to 26 July 2014 in Budapest, Hungary. Spain won their first title by defeating the Netherlands 10-5 in the final. Hungary captured the bronze medal after a 10–9 win over Italy. Qualification There were eight teams in the 2014 championships. Laura Ester Ramos (born 22 January 1990 in Barcelona) is a Spanish water polo goalkeeper. 2020 Women's European Water Polo Championship
The 2020 Women's European Water Polo Championship was the 18th edition of the major European water polo tournament for national teams. It was held at the Danube Arena in Budapest, Hungary, from 12 to 25 January 2020. Spain defeated Russia 13–12 in the final to win their second title. Host LEN announced the choice of Budapest as host for the competition on 9 July 2016. All the matches were played at the Danube Arena. Qualification Twelve teams were allowed to the tournament. 2023 FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup
The 2023 FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup was the 18th edition of the tournament. It ran from 11 April to 25 June 2023. The Super final took place between 23 and 25 June 2023 in Long Beach, United States. From this year on, the tournament was replacing the FINA Water Polo World League. The United States won their fourth straight and fifth overall title after defeating the Netherlands in the final. Format There were two divisions. In Division 1, the top eight teams from the World Championships played. They played a round-robin in April, at pre-selected venues. 2015 FINA Women's Water Polo World League
The 2015 FINA Women's Water Polo World League is played between November 2014 and June 2015 and open to all women's water polo national teams. After participating in a preliminary round, eight teams qualify to play in a final tournament, called the Super Final in Shanghai, China from 09–14 June 2015. In the world league, there are specific rules that do not allow matches to end in a draw. If teams are level at the end of the 4th quarter of any world league match, the match will be decided by a penalty shootout.
