Catharina Seaton Foreman Bisschop-Swift, known as Kate (1834-1928) was an English-born Dutch painter, known primarily for her domestic scenes and still-lifes. Biography She was largely self-taught. In the late 1860s, she took some lessons from the Dutch painter, Christoffel Bisschop. They were married in January 1869, and she went with him to the Netherlands. They lived in Scheveningen at a villa named "Frisia", although she worked mostly in Leeuwarden. In 1874, together with Gerardina Jacoba van de Sande Bakhuyzen, Sientje van Houten and Margaretha Roosenboom, she painted the "Haagse weeskinderen" (Hague Orphans), as a gift for Queen Sophie on the occasion of the 25th jubilee of Sophie's husband, King William III. Catharina Hooft
Catharina Pietersdr Hooft (28 December 1618 – 30 September 1691) was a woman of the Dutch Golden Age. She became famous at a very early age, when she was painted by Frans Hals. At the age of sixteen she married Cornelis de Graeff, nineteen years her senior and the most powerful regent and mayor of Amsterdam. Catharina "Nina" Hagen (; born 11 March 1955) is a German singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her theatrical vocals and rise to prominence during the punk and Neue Deutsche Welle movements in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She is known as "The Godmother of German Punk". Catharina Jacoba Abrahamina Enschedé (1828 – 1883) was a 19th-century Dutch painter. Biography She was born in Haarlem as the sister of the later art collector, city archivist, and museum consultant Adriaan Justus Enschedé. She was probably influenced by him as well as her artistic aunts Sandrina Christina Elisabeth Enschedé and Christina Gerarda Enschedé. She made a copy around 1870 of the Frans Hals portrait of Aletta Hanemans for the Frans Hals museum. She meant it as a souvenir because the Hals portrait which had been shown in Haarlem was sold in Amsterdam in 1877 and later moved to the Hague as part of the painting collection of the newly refurbished Mauritshuis in 1880. Andreas Burnier, born Catharina Irma Dessaur (3 July 1931 – 18 September 2002) was a Dutch writer. Burnier has published poetry, lectures, books and articles, many of which address homosexuality, in order to emphasize women's problems in a male-dominated society. Literary debut Burnier debuted in the literary magazine ''Tirade'' with her story ''Verschrikkingen van het Noorden''. Along with assuming a new name as a writer, Burnier also assumed the opposite gender. In 1965, she published her first novel, ''Een tevreden lach'' (the title of which translates as something like "A Contented Laugh"). In it she wrote about her homosexuality, a topic that had previously not been widely discussed in Dutch literature.
