Caterine Ibargüen
Caterine Ibargüen Mena Order of Boyaca, ODB (born 12 February 1984) is a retired Colombian Sport of athletics, athlete competing in high jump, long jump and triple jump. Her notable achievements include a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, silver medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics, two gold medals in the IAAF World Championships in Athletics, and two gold medals in the 2011 Pan American Games and 2015 Pan American Games. Biography Caterine was born in the Urabá Antioquia, Urabá region of Antioquia, where she was raised by her grandmother after her parents separated because of the Colombian conflict (1964–present), armed conflict in Colombia. Her father left for Venezuela and her mother moved to Turbo, Colombia. Caterine first played volleyball and Wilder Zapata, her coach, noticed her skill and suggested she play in Medellín, which had the high-profile Atanasio Girardot Sports Complex as a venue for national and international games. Apartadó
Apartadó () is a town and municipality in the Antioquia Department, Colombia. "Apartadó" means "river of plantains" in the local Indian language. The town is located near the Atlantic Ocean in the Gulf of Urabá, the economy is based in bananas, plantain, corn, cassava, cocoa, wood and livestock. The women's triple jump at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Luzhniki Stadium on 13–15 August. Defending champion Olha Saladuha was the leading qualifier, but it took her two attempts to get there. Irina Gumenyuk and world leader Caterine Ibargüen took care of business on their first attempts. The 2011 Pan American Games, officially the XVI Pan American Games, was an international multi-sport event that was held from October 14–30, 2011, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Some events were held in the nearby cities of Ciudad Guzmán, Puerto Vallarta, Lagos de Moreno and Tapalpa. It was the largest multi-sport event of 2011, with approximately 6,000 athletes from 42 nations participating in 36 sports. Both the Pan American and Parapan American Games were organized by the Guadalajara 2011 Organizing Committee (COPAG). The 2011 Pan American Games were the third Pan American Games hosted by Mexico (the first country to do so) and the first held in the state of Jalisco. Summary Just a month before this event, Yulimar Rojas jumped 15.41m for the #2 mark in history. The 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships () was the seventeenth edition of the biennial, global athletics competition organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), since renamed World Athletics. It was held between 27 September and 6 October 2019 in Doha, Qatar, at the renovated multi-purpose Khalifa International Stadium, but reduced to 21,000 available seats. 1,772 athletes from 206 teams competed in 49 athletics events over the ten-day competition, comprising 24 events each for men and women, plus a mixed relay. Summary The final started off with Shanieka Ricketts jumping 14.13 metres, which turned out to be her best. The second jumper Kristin Gierisch improved 3 centimeters to 14.16 metres then the fifth jumper, Olympic bronze medalist Olga Rypakova took the lead out to 14.45 metres.
