Catamarca Popular Movement
The Catamarca Popular Movement () is a provincial political party from the Argentine Province of Catamarca, founded in 1971 by the Ob/Gyn physician Ignacio Joaquín Avalos (1933-2007). From his extensive knowledge of his province and its inhabitants gathered after many years of medical practice and soccer playing, he developed a need to do something for the people and awareness about the problems of the region, that led him to create this independent political party. He was elected to become a member of the low chamber of the Argentinian National Congress for the period 1985-1989, due to an alliance with the Union Cívica Radical. He was candidate for vicegovernor of Catamarca in the elections of 1987. Catamarca () is a province of Argentina, located in the northwest of the country. The province had a population of 334,568 as per the , and covers an area of 102,602 km2. Its literacy rate is 95.5%. Recreate for Growth ( es, Recrear para el Crecimiento, often just Recrear) was a centre-right political party in Argentina, principally active in the Province of Buenos Aires. It existed from 2002 to 2009 and again during 2020, from August to November. Ideology and principles López Murphy defines Recrear as "simply liberal", a supporter of modern capitalism. Ricardo López Murphy
Ricardo Hipólito López Murphy (born 10 August 1951) is an Argentine economist, academic and politician. He served as Minister of Defense and Minister of Economy during the presidency of Fernando de la Rúa. His time at the helm of the economy portfolio lasted only 15 days, as he was forced to leave office after announcing an unpopular austerity plan. Since 2021, he has been a National Deputy elected in Buenos Aires for the Juntos por el Cambio coalition. He was chairman of Liberal Network for Latin America, an association of institutions to promote liberalism. Currently, he chairs the think tank Republican Civic Foundation. Originally a member of the centrist Radical Civic Union (UCR), López Murphy describes himself ideologically as a republican liberal.
