Catalonia April Fair
The April Fair of Catalonia (''Feria de abril de Cataluña'') is an annual event held in the Catalan capital of Barcelona, Spain. It usually takes place over the last week of April and the first week of May. In 1971, immigrants to Barcelona from Andalusia, and their descendants, began their own version of the Seville Fair, ''Feria de abril de Sevilla''. Since then the Barcelona event has grown to become the second largest Spring Fair in Spain. The fair is currently held at the Parc del Fòrum fairgrounds, a large area on the shores of the Mediterranean, which is covered with rows of ''casetas,'' colorfully decorated marquee tents which are temporarily set up. Most of the casetas are sponsored by cultural associations created by and for Andalusian immigrants and their descendants. In the liturgy of the Catholic Church, a feria is a day of the week other than Sunday. In more recent official liturgical texts in English, the term ''weekday'' is used instead of ''feria''. If the feast day of a saint falls on such a day, the liturgy celebrated may be that of the saint, not that of the ''feria'' (the weekday liturgy). Accordingly, in actual liturgical practice a feria or ferial day is "a weekday on which no special ecclesiastical feast is to be celebrated". Etymology The ''Harvard Dictionary of Music'' explains the etymology ''feria'' as "the reverse of the original meaning of L. ''feria'', i.e., festival day. Flamenco

Marquee Tent
A pole marquee or pole tent is a variety of large tent often used to shelter summer events such as shows, festivals, and weddings. They are particularly associated with typical English country garden weddings and village fetes. The simple design has changed little in thousands of years. A pole marquee consists of a roof canopy supported by tall central poles ("king poles") tensioned using side lines connected to ground pins (or stakes) and smaller supporting poles ("side poles").
