Castlegar Rebels
The Castlegar Rebels are a junior 'B' ice hockey team based in Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada. They are members of the Neil Murdoch Division of the Kootenay Conference of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL). The Rebels play their home games at the Castlegar and District Community Complex. The Rebels played junior 'A' in the Rocky Mountain Junior Hockey League from 1996 until 1998. History The Rebels joined the league in 1976 as an expansion team. The Rebels have won the KIJHL Championship four times, in 1977, 1978, 1996 and 2013. Castlegar, British Columbia
Castlegar is the second-largest community in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. In the Selkirk Mountains, at the confluence of the Kootenay and Columbia Rivers, it is a regional trade and transportation centre, with a local economy based on forestry, mining and tourism. Castlegar was recently cited as one of the Top Eight Places in British Columbia for most promising growth. It is home to Selkirk College, a regional airport, a pulp mill, and several sawmills. North Okanagan Knights
The North Okanagan Knights are a Junior "B" Ice Hockey team based in Armstrong, British Columbia, Canada. They are members of the Bill Ohlhausen Division of the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL). They play their home games at Nor-Val Centre. History The Knights joined the KIJHL in 2009, but finished dead-last in the Okanagan Division with a record of 11-35-0-4, missing the playoffs. In 2010-11, the Knights joined the new Doug Birks Division, but finished last again, losing 4-1 in the first round of the playoffs to Revelstoke. For 2011-12, the Knights improved to third place in the Doug Birks Division, with a record of 35-16-0-1, before losing to Kamloops in the first round of the playoffs. Gordie Walker
Gord Walker (born August 12, 1965) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played 31 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings between 1987 and 1989. Brian Skrudland
Brian Norman Skrudland (born July 31, 1963) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played for the Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, New York Rangers and Dallas Stars. Playing career Junior Skrudland played for the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League from 1980 to 1983. His #10 jersey has been retired by the Blades since 2003. Professional Skrudland won the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as the Most Valuable Player in the 1985 AHL Playoffs. Darcy R. Martini (born January 30, 1969) is a Canadian former ice hockey player. He played two NHL games for the Edmonton Oilers. Playing career Martini was drafted 162nd overall by Edmonton in 1989 from Michigan Tech. He turned pro in 1992 and split the 1992–93 season in the American Hockey League with the Cape Breton Oilers and the East Coast Hockey League with the Wheeling Thunderbirds. Dane Jackson (ice Hockey)
Dane K. Jackson (born May 17, 1970) is a Canadian coach and former professional ice hockey right wing who spent parts of four seasons in the National Hockey League between 1993 and 1998. Selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft, he spent four years at the University of North Dakota before making his professional debut for the Canucks' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in 1992. Travis Vernon Green (born December 20, 1970) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is the associate coach for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). Steven Michael Bozek (born November 26, 1960) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left wing who spent 11 seasons in the NHL with five clubs. Noted for his hard shot, he was a reliable two-way forward and strong penalty killer.
