Castilla Y León Cup
The Castilla y León Cup (from the Spanish expression ''Copa Castilla y León'') is a Association football, football championship usually played on summer and autumn between the most important teams in the region of Castilla y León. It was created in 1924 as a regional championship parallel to La Liga, and was played between that year and 1931. The Spanish Civil War and the undisputed leadership of La Liga wiped out the tournament, being forgotten. In 1985, the Football Federation of Castile and León revived it as a summer tournament, being played in just that year. It was in 2009 when it returned to be played on an annual basis. The tournament is not expected to be played in 2014. Tournament editions 1924–25 Edition Note: UD Salamanca, UD Española disqualified because of an improper starting 11. Segovia
Segovia ( , , ) is a city in the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It is the capital and most populated municipality of the Province of Segovia. Segovia is in the Inner Plateau (''Meseta central''), near the northern slopes of the Sistema Central range and on a bend of the Eresma river. The city is famous for its historic buildings including three main landmarks: its midtown Roman aqueduct, its cathedral (one of the last ones to be built in Europe following a Gothic style), and the medieval castle, which served as one of the templates for Walt Disney's Cinderella Castle. The city center was declared of World Heritage by UNESCO in 1985. Etymology The name of Segovia is of Celtiberian origin. Eusebio Sacristán
Eusebio Sacristán Mena (; born 13 April 1964), known simply as Eusebio in his playing days, is a Spanish professional football manager and former player who played as a central midfielder. He had a 20-year playing career, which started and ended at Real Valladolid, and won an array of domestic and European silverware in his seven seasons at Barcelona. Internationally, he represented Spain at Euro 1988. Eusebio began his coaching career at Barcelona and went on to lead Celta, Barcelona B, Real Sociedad and Girona. Playing career Club Born in La Seca, Province of Valladolid, Eusebio started playing professionally with hometown's Real Valladolid, being an automatic first-choice from an early age and moving to Atlético Madrid for 1987–88.
