Castevet
Castevet was an American black metal band formed in 2006 in New York City, New York. The band announced their breakup on July 21, 2014. The last line-up of the band featured Andrew Hock on vocals and guitar, Ian Jacyszyn on drums and Krallice member Nicolas McMaster on bass guitar. History The band was formed by guitarist Andrew Hock, bassist Daniel Olivencia and drummer Ian Jacyszyn. Jacyszyn performed with the death metal act Copremesis. Hock and Olivencia were members of the extreme metal acts Biolich and Ehnahre while attending New England Conservatory. After releasing ''Stones/Salts'' in 2009, the band signed to Profound Lore Records and released their debut album, ''Mounds of Ash'' in 2010, gaining critical acclaim. Maryland Deathfest
Maryland Deathfest (often abbreviated to MDF) is an annual American extreme metal festival founded in 2003 by Ryan Taylor and Evan Harting. The festival is held in Baltimore, Maryland during Memorial Day weekend, and it features many bands from around the world that vary from a wide range of Heavy metal genres, heavy metal subgenres. It is the biggest event of its kind in North America, attracting attendees from more than 40 U.S. states and 25 countries every year. More than 700 bands from more than 35 countries have played at MDF since 2003. The concept of the event is "To bring to the world the best and most extreme bands the underground has to offer. Thantifaxath is a Canadian black metal band based in Toronto, Ontario. The band, which is signed to Dark Descent Records, consists of three anonymous members. The band released their self-titled EP in 2011. The band's debut album, ''Sacred White Noise'', was released on April 15, 2014 via Dark Descent Records. The band premiered the album's opening track, "The Bright White Nothing at the End of the Tunnel" via SoundCloud in February 2014, which gained attention from art and music websites such as Vice, BrooklynVegan and Sputnikmusic. The track "Where I End & the Hemlock Begins" was also released on SoundCloud. In 2014, the band started touring with New York-based black metal band Castevet in North America. Charlie Looker (born May 23, 1980) is an American composer, improviser, vocalist, and guitarist known for his work in experimental metal, contemporary classical, avant-jazz, and Renaissance and Medieval musical forms. Education and career Looker is a graduate of Wesleyan University, where he studied with Anthony Braxton and Alvin Lucier. Grindcore is an extreme fusion genre of heavy metal and hardcore punk that originated in the mid-1980s, drawing inspiration from abrasive-sounding musical styles, such as thrashcore, crust punk, hardcore punk, extreme metal, and industrial.
