Cassiano Leal
Cassiano Schalch Leal (born 31 December 1971 in Piracicaba, São Paulo) is a former international freestyle swimmer from Brazil. At the 1991 Pan American Games, in Havana, Leal won the silver medal in the 4×200-metre freestyle. Leal was at the 1993 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m), in Palma de Mallorca, where he won the bronze medal in the 4×200-metre freestyle, along with José Carlos Souza, Teófilo Ferreira and Gustavo Borges (breaking the South American record with a time of 7:09.38). He also finished 14th (6th in the B final) in the 400-metre freestyle, with a time of 3:52.47. At the 1995 Pan American Games, in Mar del Plata, Leal won for the second time the silver medal in the 4×200-metre freestyle. José Carlos Souza
José Carlos Souza Júnior (born July 13, 1971) is a former international swimmer from Brazil, who participated at the 1992 Summer Olympics for his native country. In 1987, he went to live in the United States. He studied Business Administration at the University of Tennessee. At the 1991 World Aquatics Championships, he finished 25th in the 100-metre butterfly, and 30th in the 200-metre individual medley. José Carlos was at the 1991 Pan American Games in Havana, where he finished 7th in the 200-metre individual medley, and 8th in the 50-metre freestyle. At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, his best result was the sixth place in the men's 4×100-metre freestyle. The Swimming competition at the 1999 Pan American Games took place in the Pan Am Pool in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, from August 2–7, 1999. In 32 events, the USA team won 10 golds, 7 by the women: the last time either the U.S. men's or women's team won fewer than ten golds was 1963, when there were only eight events for each. But the U.S. didn't send its very best to Winnipeg. That honor went to the team that headed for Sydney, Australia at the 1999 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. Fernando de Oliveira Saez (born 2 October 1974 in Rio de Janeiro) is a former international freestyle swimmer from Brazil. He participated for his native country at the 1996 Summer Olympics. He is currently a swimming teacher and coordinator of the Academia da Praia and of the swimming school he has with fellow Olympian Luiz Lima. He was a swimming athlete for the Fluminense when he won the silver medal at the 1995 Pan American Games in Mar del Plata, in the 4x200 meter freestyle relay. The 2nd FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) was an international swimming meet held on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 30 November until 3 December 1995. The meet featured 32 events swum in a short course (25m) pool.
