Cassandra Vasik is a Canadian country music singer-songwriter from Blenheim, Ontario. Signed to Epic Records, she released two albums and 11 singles for the label between 1991 and 1994. In 1992, she won the Rising Star award at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards. She also won the 1992 and 1994 Juno Award for Best Country Female Vocalist. In 2000, Vasik released a pop album, ''Different'', on Perimeter Records. Blenheim, Ontario
Blenheim ( 2021 population 4,487) is a community located in south-central Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada. History By 1783, there were French settlers in Detroit and Windsor. There were also settlers in the Niagara and Kingston region, but no real settlers to speak of in the Kent County region. In 1790, Alexander McKee negotiated Treaty #2 (McKee's Purchase) of 1790 with Pottowatomie, Wendat, Ojibwe, and Odtawa leaders in Detroit to acquire what is now Southwestern Ontario. With this area now being British controlled, settlers began moving rapidly into this new land area, and eventually, the County of Kent, and Blenheim. Land began being surveyed in 1791 in Harwich township under the order of Lt.-Col. John Graves-Simcoe. Jim Witter (born November 2, 1964) is a Canadian award-winning country music and Christian music singer/songwriter. Ten of Witter's songs reached the top 10 on Canadian country radio. Biography Jim Witter grew up playing music. In 1982, he performed four songs on the "Music for Safe Water" compilation by 1280 CHAM radio. As a teenager, while still in high school, Jim honed his musical talents by playing evenings at a piano bar and restaurant called Snuggles, in Hamilton Ont. In 1990, one of Witter's demos caught the attention of a Sony Music Canada executive. Within three years, Witter was signed to FRE Records. His debut album, ''Jim Witter'', was released in 1993. Russell DeCarle
Prairie Oyster was a Canadian country music group from Toronto, Ontario. They were named Country Group or Duo of the year six times by both the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) and the Juno Awards. The band also won the Bud Country Fans' Choice Award from the CCMA in 1994. They have four No. 1 country singles in Canada, with an additional 12 singles reaching the Canadian Country Top 10. Eight of their albums have been certified gold or platinum by the Canadian Recording Industry Association, including the 1992 CCMA Album of the Year '' Everybody Knows''.
