Casey Kaplan
Casey Kaplan is a contemporary art gallery in New York City, in the United States. History The gallery was founded in 1995 in a , one-room space located on the upper floor of a cast iron loft building on Broadway, before moving to Greene Street in 1997. The gallery relocated in 2000 to a store-front gallery space in Chelsea / Meatpacking District on 14th Street. During this time, Casey Kaplan hosted the first ever New York solo exhibitions of many now canonized contemporary artists, such as Jason Dodge, Trisha Donnelly, Carsten Höller, Jonathan Monk and Simon Starling, in addition to staging solo shows with Liam Gillick and curatorial collaborations with Daniel Birnbaum and artist Douglas Gordon. The gallery expanded once more in 2005 to a larger store-front on 21st street, before relocating in 2015 to our current , two-story space in the Flower District. Giorgio Griffa
Giorgio Griffa (born in Turin, 29 March 1936) is an Italian abstract painter living and working in Turin. Biography Giorgio Griffa never received a formal art education. He began painting as a child, taking lessons from local painters at the Circolo degli Artisti in Turin. After completing a degree in law in 1958, Griffa became a practicing lawyer. In the sixties, Griffa began working as an assistant to the Italian painter Filippo Scroppo, a member of the MAC (Art Concreta) movement and a teacher at the Accademia Albertina in Turin. Work In 1968, Giorgio Griffa abandoned figurative painting in favor of a format of abstract painting that still characterizes his work to this day. Painting with acrylic on raw un-stretched canvas, burlap and linen, Griffa's works are nailed directly to the wall along their top edge. Garth Weiser
Garth Weiser (born 1979) is an artist based in New York City. Weiser was born in Montana. He makes paintings which mix stark geometric patterns with textured paint surfaces. His work is a mixture of figurative and abstract imagery and references art and design from the 1980s and 1990s. Hannah Levy (born 1991) is an American sculptor known for the inventive use of silicone as well as stainless steel in her works. Levy obtained her BFA in 2013 from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and was a Meisterschüler (Master's student) at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Her work was the subject of the solo exhibition ''Surplus Tension'' at the Arts Club of Chicago.
