Casey, Crime Photographer (TV Series)
''Casey, Crime Photographer'' (also known simply as ''Crime Photographer'') is an American crime drama television series that aired from April 19, 1951, to June 5, 1952, on the CBS Television Network. The series ran for 57 episodes over two seasons. It was based on the successful radio series of the same name which was based on the novels by George Harmon Coxe. The series starred Richard Carlyle originally as the title role of Jack "Flashgun" Casey. Later, Darren McGavin would take on the title role. The series co-starred actress Jan Miner as Ann Williams, Jack's girlfriend and a fellow reporter. Origins In 1934, author George Harmon Coxe who was already known for the writer of '' Black Mask'' magazine, which was launched in 1920, created a new character called ''Jack Casey'' who solved crimes for the police. George Harmon Coxe
George Harmon Coxe (April 23, 1901 – January 31, 1984) was an American writer of crime fiction. He is perhaps best known for his series featuring crime scene photographer Casey, Crime Photographer, Jack "Flashgun" Casey, which became a popular Radio programming, radio show airing through to the 1940s. Early years Coxe grew up in Olean, New York, where he was born, and Elmira, New York. He graduated from Ernie Davis Academy, Elmira Free Academy, then attended Cornell and Purdue for one year each and then worked for newspapers in New York, Florida, and California. After working for a printer for five years, he became a full-time writer. Overview Coxe started writing around 1922, initially working as a newspaperman and penning stories for nickel-and-dime pulp magazine, pulp fiction publications. Tony Mottola
Anthony C. Mottola (April 18, 1918 – August 9, 2004) was an American jazz guitarist who released dozens of solo albums. Mottola was born in Kearny, New Jersey and died in Denville. Career Like many of his contemporaries, Mottola began learning to play the banjo, but then took up the guitar. He had his first guitar lessons from his father. He toured with an orchestra led by George Hall in 1936, marking the beginning of his professional life. His first recordings were duets with guitarist Carl Kress.
