Cascade Cycling Classic
The Cascade Cycling Classic was the longest running elite road bicycle racing stage race in the United States (1980–2019), with 2018 being the only year the race was not held. The race took place in the Central Oregon region and was based in Bend, Oregon. It was a regular fixture for most of North America's top cyclists and teams. Owned and managed by the Cascade Cycling Classic Youth Foundation, former pro cyclist and two time National Road Champion Bart Bowen was both the Foundation's executive director and the Classic's race director. Bowen won the CCC in 1993. UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team (UCI identifier: UHC) was a professional road bicycle racing team, run by Momentum Sports Group and based in the United States. The team is sponsored principally by UnitedHealth Group. It began at the end of 2009 as a reorganization of the OUCH Pro Cycling Team, with headlining cyclist Floyd Landis leaving the team. The Mercury Cycling Team was an American professional cycling team. It was founded in 1992 as an amateur team by John Wordin and Thurlow Rogers, with Mrs. Gooch's Natural Foods Markets as the lead sponsor in 1992 and 1994. Before Mercury took over title sponsorship from 1998–1999 and 2001–2002 the team raced under various title sponsors including Miller Lite (1993), Nutra Fig (1995–1996), Comptel Data Systems (1997), and Manheim Auctions (2000). The team was named Velo News North American Team of the Year from 1996 to 2002 and won 535 races from 1998 to 2002. The team was disbanded after the 2002 season. Tom Danielson
Thomas Danielson (born March 13, 1978) is an American retired professional road racing cyclist who competed professionally between 2002 and 2015 for the Mercury Cycling Team (2002), the Saturn Cycling Team (2003), (2004), (2005–2007) and (2008–2015). He had been suspended twice for doping in his career. Career Early years Danielson holds the record for the fastest ascent of Mount Washington, New Hampshire, in the Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb. The previous record holder was professional cyclist Tyler Hamilton. He also holds the record for the Mount Evans Hill Climb in Colorado, which traverses the highest paved road in North America. Mike Creed
Michael Creed (born January 8, 1981 in Twin Falls, Idaho) is a former American cyclist and U23 time trial national champion. He was the sports director of Team SmartStop in the 2014 and 2015 seasons before being appointed head coach of USA Paralympics' paracycling programme in November 2015. Scott Moninger
Scott Moninger is an American professional road racing cyclist. He was born October 20, 1966 in Atlanta, Georgia, grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and moved to Boulder, Colorado, in the mid 1980s to further his career in cycling. Moninger turned professional in 1991 with the Coors Light Team directed by Len Pettyjohn. Since then, he has won nearly every road race in North America with over 275 career victories, the most by any American rider at the time of retirement. Scott retired from racing in 2007, racing his final year as a pro with the BMC Racing Team. Phil Zajicek (born March 20, 1979 in Eugene, Oregon) is an American ex-professional road racing cyclist who last rode professionally for the Fly V Australia Team in 2010. On June 10, 2011, the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced that Zajicek had accepted a life-ban from competition.
