Casablanca (band)
Casablanca is a Swedish rock band with members from several other notable groups: Josephine Forsman from the Sahara Hotnights (drums), Erik Stenemo from Melody Club (guitar), Anders Ljung from Space Age Baby Jane (vocals), Ryan Roxie from Roxy 77 (guitar), Mats Rubarth who previously played football professionally for AIK (bass), and Erik Almström from Bullet (guitar). The band released three albums: their debut album Apocalyptic Youth in 2012, Riding a Black Swan in 2014, and concept album Miskatonic Graffiti in 2015. In the final of Melodifestivalen 2010 they performed the 2009 winning song La Voix along with 2009 winner Malena Ernman Sara Magdalena Ernman (born 4 November 1970) is a Swedish opera singer. Josephine Forsman
Josephine Forsman (born 20 May 1981, in Robertsfors) is a Swedish drummer/songwriter. She is one of the four founders of the rock band Sahara Hotnights. She was also the drummer of the hard rock band Casablanca. She has played behind Swedish artists like Robyn, Orup, Per Gessle. In 2012 she hosted the music series ''Låtarna som förändrade musiken'' where she interviewed and played drums/guitar with performers like Clyde Stubblefield, Tommy Ramone, Michelle Phillips. In addition to drumming with Sahara Hotnights Josephine Forsman is working with the music organization LOUD Program in Los Angeles. Sahara Hotnights
Sahara Hotnights are a Swedish rock band from Robertsfors, Sweden. Their style incorporates elements of garage rock, power pop and punk. History The band formed sometime around 1991/1992, "due to boredom". While in Australia, Josephine Forsman bet on a horse named Sahara Hotnights and used the name for the band. Around 1995, they won a "battle of the bands" contest and were awarded with a chance to record their songs in studio. Their debut EP, ''Suits Anyone Fine'', was released in 1997 to immediate success and critical acclaim in Europe. Soon afterwards, the band signed with the Swedish label Speech Records, and over the next two years released three further singles, "Face Wet", "Oh Darling!", and "Nothing Yet". Melody Club
Melody Club is a Swedish band from Växjö formed in January 2000. Their breakthrough came in 2002 with the song ''Palace Station'', which was also a big success in Germany. The band has frequent radio airplay in Sweden, Germany, Japan, Norway and Denmark. Melody Club's style can be described as a blend of synthpop and glam rock. The single "Fever Fever" is included on the soundtrack of the football video game by EA Sports, ''FIFA 08''. Ryan Roxie
Ryan Roxie (born Ryan Rosowicz, December 1, 1965) is an American guitarist, singer/songwriter best known as a solo artist and for playing guitar with Alice Cooper, Casablanca, Gilby Clarke, and Slash's Snakepit. Roxie is the primary founder of the System-12 Guitar Method and also hosts the weekly ''In the Trenches with Ryan Roxie'' podcast. Early Years Roxie was born in Sacramento, California and grew up in the East Bay in Pleasanton. Roxie's father, Polish, was a trumpet player and his mother was a drummer in her high school marching band. When he was about the age of five Roxie picked up the guitar but was more interested in drums. It wasn't until he was around eleven or twelve that he started taking guitar seriously. Mats Rubarth
Mats Carl Rickard Rubarth (born 25 January 1977) is a Swedish musician and former footballer, who played most of his senior career for AIK. He won one cap for the Sweden national team. Football career Club career Rubarth was a technical left-winger who liked to dribble past defenders from the left side of the pitch, even though he was right footed. He regularly provided strikers with good passes and consequently got quite a few assists during his career. During the 2003 season, which arguably was Rubarth's best, he also proved to be an able goal scorer, scoring ten times that season in Allsvenskan. One of his more famous goals was however scored in 2001 against local rivals Hammarby IF when he scored with a spectacular bicycle kick. Sara Magdalena Ernman (born 4 November 1970) is a Swedish opera singer. Besides operas and operettas, she has also performed chansons, cabaret, jazz, and appeared in musicals.
