Carwyn Davies
Carwyn Davies (17 April 1964 – 10 February 1997) was a Welsh international rugby union player. Davies was born in Llandovery, Carmarthenshire. He was a rugby union player for Llanelli and also played seven international matches for Wales between 1988 and 1989 as a winger. As a Llanelli player he held the club's try-scoring record scoring 45 tries in 44 games during the 1988/9 season. He scored 121 tries in 159 matches for Llanelli. Davies worked as a farmer near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire and witnessed the Glanrhyd Bridge railway accident early on 19 October 1987, when four people died. He later helped ferry rescuers to the bridge using the farm's tractor. He retired from first class rugby in 1991 to run the Llangadog Llangadog () is a village and community located in Carmarthenshire, Wales, which also includes the villages of Bethlehem and Capel Gwynfe. Carwyn James
Carwyn Rees James (2 November 1929 – 10 January 1983) was a Welsh rugby union player and coach. He won two Welsh international caps but is most famous for his coaching achievements with Llanelli, the 1971 British Lions and the Barbarians, with all of whom he beat the All Blacks. Early life James was born in 1929, the son of a coalminer, in Cefneithin in the Gwendraeth Valley. Teaching, navy, espionage James worked as a Welsh teacher by profession and later a lecturer at Trinity College, Carmarthen. He also served in the navy, and may have done spying work, although was a pacifist later in life. Rugby playing James played Fly-half (rugby union), fly-half for Llanelli, playing his first game while still at Gwendraeth School. He was capped for Wales twice in 1958, the second time at centre, but would probably have gained more caps had he not been in competition with Cliff Morgan for the fly-half spot. Carwyn Jones
Carwyn Howell Jones (born 21 March 1967) is a Welsh politician who served as First Minister of Wales and Leader of Welsh Labour from 2009 to 2018. He served as Counsel General for Wales from 2007 to 2009. Jones served as the Member of the Senedd (MS) for Bridgend from 1999 to 2021. Jones served in the Cabinet as Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development in the Welsh Government from 2000 to 2002, and as Minister of State for the Environment from 2003 to 2007. Following the 2007 election, he was appointed Minister for Education, Culture and the Welsh Language, and thereafter Counsel General for Wales and Leader of the House following the One Wales coalition agreement with Plaid Cymru. Carwyn Williams
Carwyn Williams (born 25 July 1965) is an ex-professional surfer from Mumbles, Wales, who "rose to global prominence" in the 1980s. Williams grew up in the Langland Bay area, near Mumbles. He had a strong Welsh rivalry during the 1980s with Simon Tucker. Tucker won the Junior British Championship in 1981 with Williams in second place. While Tucker was described as 'Mr Steady', Williams was "flamboyant" and a "likeable rogue" and achieved the higher profile. In 1985 and 1986 Williams won European Professional Surfing Association (ESPA) tour. He beat reigning World Champion Damien Hardman in 1988 Rip Curl Pro Hossegor, France and became one of the world's greatest and most respected surfers joining the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Top 30.
