Carsten Kissmeyer
Carsten Kissmeyer (born 22 May 1953, in Roskilde) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Venstre political party. He entered parliament in 2018 after Esben Lunde Larsen resigned his seat. Political career Kissmeyer was a member of the municipal council of Ikast Municipality from 1994 to 2007 where the municipality was merged with Brande and Nørre-Snede Municipality to form Ikast-Brande Municipality. Kissmeyer was also the mayor of Ikast Municipality from 2002 to 2007. He was reelected into the new municipal council, and remained as mayor from the municipality's foundation in 2007 to 2018. In 2018, he entered the regional council of the Central Denmark Region. Folketing
The Folketing ( da, Folketinget, ; ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark—Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, until 1953 the Folketing was the lower house of a bicameral parliament, called the Rigsdag; the upper house was Landstinget. It meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. The Folketing passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. It is also responsible for adopting the state's budgets and approving the state's accounts. As set out in the Constitution of Denmark, the Folketing shares power with the reigning monarch. 2019 Danish General Election
General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 5 June 2019 to elect all 179 members of the Folketing; 175 in Denmark proper, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland. The elections took place ten days after the European Parliament elections. The elections resulted in a victory for the "red bloc", comprising parties that supported the Social Democrats' leader Mette Frederiksen as candidate for Prime Minister. The "red bloc", consisting of the Social Democrats, the Social Liberals, Socialist People's Party, the Red–Green Alliance, the Faroese Social Democratic Party and the Greenlandic Siumut, won 93 of the 179 seats, securing a parliamentary majority. Mads Rørvig Nielsen is a former Danish politician who was a member of the Danish Parliament from 2010 to 2015. He represented the district Silkeborg Sydkredsen as a member of the Venstre party. As of June 2020, Rørvig is the CEO of De Danske Bilimportører. Early life and education Rørvig was born on 11 July 1988 in Viborg to Ole B. Nielsen and Marianne Rørvig Nielsen. Central Denmark Region
The Central Denmark Region ( da, Region Midtjylland), or more directly translated as the Central Jutland Region and sometimes simply Mid Jutland, is an administrative region of Denmark established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish municipal reform. The reform abolished the traditional counties (''amter'') and replaced them with five new administrative regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the total number of municipalities from 271 to 98. The reform diminished the power of the regional level dramatically in favour of the local level and the national government in Copenhagen. The Central Denmark Region comprises 19 municipalities. West Jutland ( da, Vestjylland) is one of the 12 multi-member constituencies of the Folketing, the national legislature of Denmark. The constituency was established in 2007 following the public administration structural reform.
