''Carrusel'' () is a Mexican children's telenovela produced by Valentín Pimstein for Televisa in 1989. It's based on the Argentinean character Jacinta Pichimahuida (first televised in 1966), and produced by and broadcast on Televisa in 1989. It covers daily life in a Mexican elementary school and the children's relationships with a charismatic teacher named Ximena. Among other plot devices, it deals with the differences between the upper and lower classes of Mexican society – specifically as seen in a romantic relationship between Cirilo, a poor black boy, and a spoiled white rich girl, Maria Joaquina Villaseñor. Gabriela Rivero starred as main protagonist, while Janet Ruiz and Beatriz Moreno starred as main antagonists. Carrossel
''Carrossel'' ( en, Carousel) is a Brazilian children's telenovela created by Íris Abravanel and written by Abel Santa Cruz. The TV show originally aired on SBT from 21 May 2012 to 26 July 2013. It is a Brazilian remake of the Mexican telenovela '' Carrusel'' (which in turn had been inspired by the Argentinean telenovela ''Jacinta Pichimahuida, la Maestra que no se Olvida''). The Telenovela was particularly successful with children and led to several spin-offs including a cartoon series and television sitcom. Gabriela Rivero Abaroa (born September 15, 1964 in Mexico City, Mexico), better known as Gaby Rivero, is an actress and singer. Best remembered for portraying Maestra Jimena (character played in telenovelas Carrusel and Carrusel de las Américas). Biography Gabriela Rivero Abaroa was born on September 15, 1964 in Mexico City. She is the daughter of Maria de Lourdes Abaroa and Mario Rivero. She began her career as a model and dancer. Ludwika Paleta (; born Ludwika Paleta Paciorek on November 29, 1978 in Kraków, Poland) is a Polish- Mexican actress. Early life and career Paleta was born in Kraków, Poland in 1978. When her father, the musician Zbigniew Paleta, was offered a job in Mexico, the Paleta family settled permanently. Valentín Pimstein Weiner (August 9, 1925 – June 27, 2017) was a Chilean producer of telenovelas. Biography Pimstein was the seventh child of nine in a Belarusian Jewish family (from Minsk), which owns a glass shop in Barrio Brasil in Santiago. His fondness for the romantic and melodramatic stories born under the eaves of his mother, a frequent consumer of Mexican films and soap operas, and developed in parallel with his interest in theater. After fulfilling adulthood, Pimstein decided to leave his native country in search of adventure.
