Carrot Or Stick (House)
"Carrot or Stick" is the tenth episode of the seventh season of the American medical drama ''House''. It first aired on Fox on January 24, 2011. Sasha Roiz and Tyler James Williams guest star. Plot House and his team must investigate a case of a drill instructor who works in a juvenile offender camp named Camp Driscoll when he collapses due to acute back pain. Throughout the episode, Masters debates on whether or not military-style discipline is necessary for children. When they suspect that one of his students has poisoned him, Foreman and Masters come upon Landon, a student whom Driscoll seems to push harder than the others. Later, Landon ends up in the hospital with the same symptoms. After learning that Landon was put into the camp for a relatively minor offense, further research reveals that Driscoll is Landon's father. "Small Sacrifices" is the eighth episode of the seventh season of the American medical drama '' House''. It aired on November 22, 2010. Plot A patient is admitted to Princeton Plainsboro after reenacting the Crucifixion. During the initial conversation, the patient reveals that he crucified himself to honor a bargain he made with God for curing his daughter's cancer. Taub comes up with a sound diagnosis but the patient starts losing teeth so the team scraps the idea. However, Chase and Masters break into the patient's apartment to see that he has been starving himself which was the likely cause of the tooth loss. Regardless, the patient refuses the treatment because of the promise he made to God to save his daughter. Meanwhile, Cuddy walls House for an apology about lying to her and also pulls him for the wedding dinner of the hospital's chairman-of-board. Variegate Porphyria
Variegate porphyria, also known by several other names, is an autosomal dominant porphyria that can have acute (severe but usually not long-lasting) symptoms along with symptoms that affect the skin. The disorder results from low levels of the enzyme responsible for the seventh step in heme production. Heme is a vital molecule for all of the body's organs. It is a component of hemoglobin, the molecule that carries oxygen in the blood. Signs and symptoms When symptoms occur, they can include acute attacks (similar to acute intermittent porphyria) or skin damage.
