Caroline Dubois (boxer)
Caroline Sara Dubois (born 11 January 2001) is a British professional boxer. She has been Youth Olympic champion, World Youth champion and four-times European Youth champion. Early life Dubois is one of eleven children. She was raised in a single-parent family by her father, a native of Grenada. Her older brother Daniel Dubois is a professional boxer. Amateur career Dubois started boxing at the age of nine. While there were all-girl amateur boxing clubs in her city, her father wanted her to practice at a top-flight club where her older brother Daniel had trained. For her first few months at Repton Amateur Boxing Club, Dubois pretended to be a boy named Colin. At the 2017 European Junior Championships, Dubois beat Nune Asatrian by unanimous points decision in the final to take the title. Super bantamweight, also known as junior featherweight, is a weight class in professional boxing, contested from and up to . There were attempts by boxing promoters in the 1920s to establish this weight class, but few sanctioning organizations or state athletic commissions would recognize it. Jack Wolf won recognition as champion when he beat Joe Lynch at Madison Square Garden on September 21, 1922, but afterwards the weight division fell into disuse. The division was revived in the 1970s and the first title fight in 54 years in the division took place in 1976 when the World Boxing Council recognized Rigoberto Riasco as its champion when he defeated Waruinge Nakayama in eight rounds. Points Decision
A points decision is a winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, mixed martial arts and others sports involving striking. Unlike normal decisions where there are three judges that agree on which fighter won the match, the fight is scored by the referee, who determines who wins the bout. In some boxing matches, particularly when sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control in the United Kingdom, the referee is responsible for scoring (round by round) which fighter they feel is winning (and losing).
