Caroline Afonso
Caroline Afonso (born 20 February 1985) is a retired French professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour (LET) 2008–2016. She was runner-up twice on the LET and won three LET Access Series events. Career Afonso started playing golf at 10 and was coached by Philippe Mendiburu, father of LET player Sandrine Mendiburu. She won the French Ladies Amateur Championship twice and was ranked best amateur in France 2007. Afonso turned professional at the end of 2007 and joined the Ladies European Tour on her first attempt in 2008, where she in her rookie year recorded top-10 finishes at Ladies Scottish Open and Austrian Ladies Open, and ended the season 44th in the Order of Merit. She recorded further top-10 finishes at the Finnair Masters in 2009 and Ladies German Open, Tenerife Ladies Open and Open de France Feminin in 2010. 2011 Ladies European Tour
The 2011 Ladies European Tour was a series of golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world which took place from February through December 2011. The tournaments were sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET). The tour featured 24 official money events, as well as the Tenerife Ladies Match Play, the European Nations Cup and the Solheim Cup. Ai Miyazato won the Order of Merit with earnings of €363,080, despite only playing in two events. 2007 European Ladies' Team Championship
The 2007 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 10–14 July at Golf Club Castelconturbia in Agrate Conturbia, Italy. It was the 25th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue The hosting Golf Club Castelconturbia was refounded in 1984. The three nine-hole courses, situated in Agrate Conturbia, in the Italian region of Piedmont, 60 kilometres north-west of Milan, on land were golf was played 90 years earlier, was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1987. European Ladies' Team Championship
The European Ladies' Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for women organised by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1959. It was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format Currently, the championship is contested by up to 20 teams, each of 6 players. The format consists of two rounds of strokeplay, out of which the five lowest scores from each team's six players will count each day. The total addition of the five lowest scores will constitute the team's score and determine the teams qualified for the last three rounds of matchplay. Only teams in contention for a medal will play a match format of two foursomes and five singles, while the other teams will play a one foursome and four singles match format. The 2012 LET Access Series was a series of professional women's golf tournaments held from March through November 2012 across Europe. The LET Access Series is the second-tier women's professional golf tour in Europe and is the official developmental tour of the Ladies European Tour. 2014 Evian Championship
The 2014 Evian Championship was played 11–14 September at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains, France. It was the 21st Evian Championship (the first 19 played as the Evian Masters), and the second as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. The event was televised by Golf Channel and NBC Sports in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom. Kim Hyo-joo, age 19, shot an opening round 61 (−10) and held on to total 273 (−11), one stroke ahead of runner-up Karrie Webb. Trailing by a stroke at the final tee, Kim sank a putt for birdie while Webb failed to par from the same distance to force a playoff. It was Kim's first win on the LPGA Tour and she became the third-youngest in history to win a women's major title. The 2011 Ricoh Women's British Open was held 28–31 July at Carnoustie Golf Links in Angus, Scotland. It was the 35th Women's British Open, and the 11th as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. This was the first time for the Women's British Open at Carnoustie, which previously hosted seven Open Championships, most recently in 2007. Yani Tseng became the first to successfully defend her title at the Women's British Open as a major championship, four strokes ahead of runner-up Brittany Lang. The 2010 Women's British Open was held 29 July to 1 August at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. It was the 34th edition of the Women's British Open, and the tenth as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. This was the fifth time the Women's British Open had been held at Royal Birkdale and the second as an LPGA major, previously in 2005. The course had also hosted nine Open Championships, most recently in 2008. The par-72 course was set by the Ladies Golf Union at , shorter than the par-70 set-up for The Open Championship in 2008. Fourqueux () is a former commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. On 1 January 2019, it was merged into the commune Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
