Blair (incorporated as The Carolina Wren Press, Inc.) is a literary small press publisher based in Durham, North Carolina, founded in 1976 as Carolina Wren Press by Judy Hogan. The press mainly publishes poetry (both full collections, and limited-edition chapbooks), but also publishes fiction and nonfiction, biography, autobiography, literary nonfiction by and/or about people of color, women, gay/lesbian issues, health and mental health topics in children's literature. Each year, Blair honors one writer with the Doris Bakwin Award. Evie Shockley
Evie Shockley is an American poet. Shockley received the 2012 Hurston/Wright Legacy Award in Poetry for her book ''the new black'' and the 2012 Holmes National Poetry Prize. She was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2018. Early life and education Shockley is originally from Nashville, Tennessee. Shockley received a BA from Northwestern University, studied law at the University of Michigan from whence she received her JD, and received a PhD in English from Duke University. Career Shockley teaches at Rutgers University-New Brunswick in New Jersey. Her work toured South Africa in 2007 as part of ''Biko 30/30'', an exhibit dedicated to activist Steve Biko. COSMEP
Richard Ward Morris (1939–August 28, 2003) was an American author, editor, and poet. He published more than 20 books in his lifetime, many of which were written to "explain the intricacies of science to the general public". His literary style and narrative talents allowed for easy reading of what were otherwise heady and intellectual topics, bringing sometimes abstract scientific ideas to a level the common person could understand. Career Morris received his MS in physics from the University of New Mexico and his PhD in physics from the University of Nevada, Reno, before he moved to San Francisco, where he started the magazine ''Camels Coming''. The Title X Family Planning Program is the only federal grant program dedicated to providing individuals with comprehensive family planning and related preventive health services.
