Carolina Elite Cobras
Carolina Elite Cobras, formerly Central SC Cobras, is an American women's soccer team, founded in 2010. The team is a member of the United Soccer Leagues W-League, the second tier of women's soccer in the United States and Canada. History The team played its first season at Younts Soccer Stadium on the campus of Columbia College in Columbia, SC. But, moved to Greenville, SC for the 2013 season. For the 2013 season the Central SC Cobras FC acquired new Sponsoring Partner Carolina Elite Soccer Academy (CESA). Though the franchise is still based out of Columbia it now also works out of Greenville. The addition of Elite to the name was made as part of the sponsoring agreement so Central SC Cobras -Carolina Cobras - Carolina Elite Cobras was the evolution as things began to change after the 2012 season. The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Centers, or Kroc Centers, is a group of community centers run by the Salvation Army. Kroc Center background Upon her death in 2003, Joan Kroc, the widow of McDonald's restaurants executive Ray Kroc, bequeathed $1.5 billion to The Salvation Army solely for the purpose of establishing centers of opportunity, education, recreation and inspiration throughout the United States to be known as "Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Centers". Prior to her death, $87 million was donated to build and endow the first Kroc Center in San Diego, California on what was a grocery store that was abandoned in the early 1990s and other empty land. The USL Championship (USLC) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that began its inaugural season in 2011. Sylvia Gee (born 30 November 1977) is a former Republic of Ireland women's international footballer who has spent the majority of her career playing in various women's association football leagues in the Republic of Ireland and the United States. Between 2003 and 2007, Gee was a prominent member and captain of the successful UCD team which qualified for the UEFA Women's Cup on three successive occasions. Blakely Elizabeth Mattern (born September 17, 1988) is an American soccer defender who plays for Carolina Elite Cobras. Career Collegiate Mattern played collegiate soccer at the University of South Carolina where she was a two-time All-American in addition to being a Freshman All-American.
