Palazzo Carminati
Palazzo Carminati ("Carminati Palace") is the palace facing the Milan Cathedral (i.e., the "Duomo") on the West side of Piazza del Duomo, the central plaza of Milan, Italy. The palace is named after a famous Cafè, the Carminati. It was built in the late 1860s as private home of a well known Milanese silver manufacturer, Giacomo Cesati. In the twentieth century, the palace became a landmark of Milan (and a symbol of the city's economic growth) because of the large neon advertising signs that were affixed to its façade, with an overall visual effect that has been compared to that of New York City's Broadway and Times Square or London's Piccadilly Circus. Advertising signs first appeared on the façade of the palace in the 1920s, but they were especially rich and colorful in the 1960s and 1970s. Alain Carminati (born 17 August 1966 in Champagnole, France) is a French former international rugby union and rugby league footballer. He played as a Flanker and Number 8. Massimo Carminati (; born 31 May 1958), allegedly nicknamed "the last king of Rome", is an Italian underworld figure and former member of far-right terrorist group Nuclei Armati Rivoluzionari and criminal gang Banda della Magliana, which were at the centre of sensational allegations of state collusion and Masonic conspiracy during Italy's Years of Lead. Carminati was investigated for match fixing in 2012. In 2014 he was arrested with 36 others on allegations of running a corrupt network that infiltrated Rome's public administration. He was charged with fraud, money laundering, embezzlement, and the bribing of public officials. In 2017, Carminati was sentenced to 20 years in jail. Tullio Carminati (September 21, 1894 – February 26, 1971) was an Italian actor. He rose to fame in Italy and the United States initially as a silent film actor, starring in such films as '' The Duchess of Buffalo'' (1926), '' The Bat'' (1926), '' Honeymoon Hate'' (1927), and '' Three Sinners'' (1928) alongside Pola Negri. Carminati went on to star in '' Stage Madness'' (1927), ''One Night of Love'' (1934), '' Let's Live Tonight'' (1935), '' Paris in Spring'' (1935) and '' Three Maxims'' (1936). Villa Carminati-Ferrario, Monza
Villa Carminati-Ferrario is a building located in Monza, Italy, in piazza Citterio. It was built in 1830 and designed by the architect Pietro Pestagalli, in late neoclassical style. The layout of the villa is u-shaped, centered on an internal courtyard, which reflects the architectural taste of Bourgeois families at the time. A small garden with two palm trees is located at the front of the building facing piazza Citterio.
