Carly Leeson
Carly May Leeson (born 9 November 1998) is an Australian cricketer who plays for the ACT Meteors in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL). An all-rounder, she bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium pace. She has previously played for Sydney Sixers, New South Wales and Melbourne Renegades. Early life Leeson was born on 9 November 1998 in Grafton, New South Wales. She represented New South Wales at under-15 and under-18 level and was a member of Australia's second-string Shooting Stars squad when they toured Sri Lanka in 2015. Club career In February 2018, Leeson became the first woman to play in a men's grade cricket match for Randwick Petersham Cricket Club. Domestic career Women's Big Bash League Leeson joined the Sydney Sixers ahead of the 2016–17 WBBL season. ACT Meteors
The Australian Capital Territory Women cricket team, also known as the Abode Hotels ACT Meteors, is the women's representative cricket team for the Australian Capital Territory. They play most of their home games at Manuka Oval, Canberra and they also use Phillip Oval, Canberra. They compete in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL), the premier 50-over women's cricket tournament in Australia. Randwick Petersham Cricket Club
Randwick Petersham Cricket Club, also known as the Randy Petes, competes in the Sydney Grade Cricket competition in Grades 1 to 5, Poidevin Gray (under-21) and AW Green Shield (under-16). It also fields two sides in the Sydney Metropolitan competition. Established in 2001 following a merger between Randwick Cricket Club and Petersham-Marrickville District CC, the Randy Petes have been highly successful winning two Club Championships (2007/08 and 2010/11) and premierships across Grades 1 to 6. Melbourne Renegades are an Australian professional men's Twenty20 franchise cricket club based in Melbourne, the capital city of the Australian state of Victoria. They compete in the Australian Twenty20 cricket competition, the Big Bash League. The team is coached by David Saker and captained by Nic Maddinson. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. 2020–21 Women's Big Bash League Season
The 2020–21 Women's Big Bash League season or WBBL, 06 was the sixth season of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL), the semi-professional women's Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Australia. The tournament took place from 25 October to 28 November 2020. It was played entirely in Sydney due to ongoing state border restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Brisbane Heat entered the season as double defending champions, having won back-to-back titles in WBBL04 and WBBL05. The Heat finished the regular season with seven-straight wins but suffered an "epic meltdown" in a twelve-run semi-final loss against the Sydney Thunder, ending their hunt for a three-peat.
