Carlota Pereda
Carlota Pereda (born 1975) is a Spanish film and television director and screenwriter. Biography Carlota Pereda was born in Madrid in 1975. She studied at the ECAM. She began her career in television, developing scripts for '' Periodistas''. She went on to collaborate in different capacities (including screenwriting and director) in other television shows such as ''Mis adorables vecinos'', ''Los hombres de Paco'', ''Águila Roja'', ''Luna, el misterio de Calenda'', '' B&b, de boca en boca'', ''El secreto de Puente Viejo'', and ''Acacias 38''. Her first short film was ''Las rubias'' ('The Blondes'). Her sophomore short film, ''Cerdita'', won the Forqué Award and the Goya Award for Best Short Film. 33rd Goya Awards
The 33rd Goya Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AACCE), honored the best in Spanish films of 2018 and took place at the Conference and Exhibition Centre of Seville on 2 February 2019. The ceremony was televised in Spain by the Spanish public television (TVE) and was hosted by television presenter and comedian Andreu Buenafuente and actress Silvia Abril. It was also televised for the international public by the TVE Internacional channel. It was the second time that the ceremony was held outside of Madrid, the other one being the 14th edition that took place in Barcelona. ''The Chapel'' ( es, La ermita, links=no) is a 2023 Spanish supernatural drama film directed by Carlota Pereda and co-written by Albert Bertran, Carmelo Viera, and Pereda which stars Belén Rueda and Maia Zaitegi. Plot 8-year-old Emma seeks guidance and help from false medium Carol to contact with the ghost of a girl trapped in a chapel, so Emma could be able to communicate with her terminally-ill mother once she dies. The Méliès d'Or (; en, Golden Méliès) is an award presented annually by the Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF), an international network of genre film festivals from Europe. The Méliès d'Or was introduced in 1996 for science fiction, fantasy, and horror films. The award is named after film director Georges Méliès (1861-1938).
