Carlos & Alejandra are an American music duo that focuses on the genre of bachata. The duo is composed of members Carlos Vargas Franco Jr. and Bianca Alejandra Feliz. Despite the success of the duo, they split in 2016, with each following their own separate paths as solo artists. Early life Carlos Vargas Carlos Vargas Franco Jr. was raised in The Bronx, New York. He paired with Alejandra by music label Romance Records. He is of Dominican descent and born on August 27, 1984. Carlos was offered work in the bachata group Aventura, but he rejected the offer. Alejandra Feliz Born Bianca Alejandra Feliz on January 4, 1987, to a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother. She studied in Boston Arts Academy, and in Boston's Suffolk University graduating in Penal Law. She worked in music, fashion and modelling and in 2004 won a beauty pageant contest crowned Miss Anacaona. The Tropical Airplay chart (formerly known as Tropical/Salsa and Tropical Songs) is a record chart published by ''Billboard'' magazine introduced in 1994. The first number-one song on the chart was " Quien Eres Tu" by Luis Enrique. Originally, rankings on the chart were determined by the amount of airplay a song received on radio stations that primarily played tropical music, namely music originating from the Spanish-speaking areas of the Caribbean such as salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, vallenato, and tropical fusions. Any song, regardless of its genre, was eligible for the chart if it received enough airplay from the panel of tropical music radio stations being monitored. Xtreme (group)
Xtreme is an American music duo consisting of members Danny D (born as Danny Mejía on July 23, 1985) and Steve Styles (born as Steven Tejada on November 25, 1985) of Dominican descent. The duo focuses on the Latin genre bachata. Xtreme was formed in 2003 and since then has enjoyed success among Hispanics in the United States. The original line up included another vocalist name Elvis Rosario, who was also a guitarist in the group. He left after 2005 or 2006. History The beginning The group was discovered in 2003 by Andre "Dre" Hidalgo. He is the owner and founder of the independent record label 2 Strong Music, which had started the careers of Bachata artists and groups such as Aventura and Prince Royce. Dre discovered Danny D at age 17. Later on he added Elvis Rosario to the lineup. Danny and Rosario were the original members.
