Carlos Sánchez García (born 19 January 1978) is a Spanish retired Association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. Club career A graduate of local CD Leganés' youth system, Madrid-born Sánchez signed with La Liga giants Real Madrid CF, Real Madrid in 1999, being first-choice for both its Real Madrid Castilla, B and Real Madrid C, C sides. Benefitting from forced absences to Iker Casillas and César Sánchez he appeared once for the first team, a 1–1 away draw against RCD Mallorca on 23 December 2001. Nothing more than a third-string player for the club, Sánchez would be loaned from 2004 to 2006, spending two seasons in the Segunda División with Polideportivo Ejido and UD Almería, both in Andalusia, where he also featured very rarely. Club Deportivo Castellón, S.A.D. is a professional Spanish football team based in Castellón de la Plana, in the Valencian Community. The 2009–10 Segunda División season (known as the Liga Adelante for sponsorship reasons) was the 79th since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 29 August 2009, and the season ended on 19 June 2010. Real Betis, Numancia and Recreativo de Huelva are the teams which were relegated from La Liga the previous season. The Zamora Trophy ( es, Trofeo Ricardo Zamora, link=no) is a football award, established by Spanish newspaper '' MARCA'' in 1958. The award goes to the goalkeeper who has the lowest "goals-to-games" ratio.Similar to goals against average in ice hockey or earned run average in baseball. In the inaugural year of the award, the winning goalkeeper had to play at least 15 league matches in the current season. In 1964, the limit for matches a goalkeeper had to play was raised to 22. The 2007–08 season was the 77th in the history of the Segunda División (known as the Liga BBVA for sponsorship reasons), the second tier of the Spanish football league system. The first matches of the season were played on 25 August 2007, and the season ended on 15 June 2008.
