Carlos Ruiz (Argentine Footballer)
Carlos David Ruiz (born 10 November 1971) is an Argentine football manager and former player who played as a right back. Playing career Born in Buenos Aires, Ruiz started his professional career with Racing Club de Avellaneda in 1992, but he never played a league game with the club. The following year, 1993, he joined Arsenal de Sarandí, where he played ever since, making him one of the club's longest serving players of all time. One of the highlights of his career was being part of the 2002 Arsenal team that was promoted to the Argentine Primera. During his career, he made 399 appearances for Arsenal, making him the most capped player in the club's history. Coaching career On 30 April 2010, Ruiz was named as caretaker coach of Arsenal de Sarandí and replaced Jorge Burruchaga. 2007 Copa Sudamericana
The 2007 edition of the Copa Sudamericana was played by 34 teams; 30 teams from the CONMEBOL and 4 teams from the CONCACAF. CONMEBOL organized the tournament and invited three North American clubs which were the best three of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup 2007; the fourth North American club was the defending champion Pachuca. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana, named as ''Copa Sudamericana'' (; pt, Copa Sul-Americana ), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 2002. It is the second-most prestigious club competition in South American football. CONCACAF clubs were invited between 2004 and 2008. Jorge Luis Burruchaga (; born 9 October 1962), nicknamed ''Burru'', is an Argentine association football coach and former professional football player. He played both as an attacking midfielder and forward and scored the winning goal in the final of the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Club career Born in Gualeguay, Entre Ríos, Burruchaga started playing in 1980 for Arsenal de Sarandí in Argentina's then second division.
