Carlos Rogers (basketball)
Carlos Deon Rogers (born February 6, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1st round (11th overall) of the 1994 NBA Draft. Biography Rogers was born in Detroit and graduated from Northwestern High School. A 6'11" forward-center from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Tennessee State University, Rogers played in eight NBA seasons from 1994 to 2002. He played for the Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers. Points in basketball are used to keep track of the score in a game. Points can be accumulated by making field goals (two or three points) or free throws (one point). If a player makes a field goal from within the three-point line, the player scores two points. If the player makes a field goal from beyond the three-point line, the player scores three points. USA Basketball (USAB) is a non-profit organization and the governing body for basketball in the United States. The organization represents the United States in FIBA and the men's and women's national basketball teams in the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. Its chairman of the board is retired General Martin Dempsey and its CEO is Jim Tooley. 1994 NBA Draft
The 1994 NBA draft took place on June 29, 1994, at Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis. Two NBA rookies of the year were picked in the first round, as Jason Kidd and Grant Hill were co-winners of the award for the 1994–95 NBA season. Kidd and Hill would end up as perennial All-Stars (10 and 7-time selections, respectively), though Hill's career was marred by severe injuries. The first overall pick Glenn Robinson was involved in a contract holdout shortly after being selected, reportedly seeking a 13-year, $100 million contract. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The Universiade is referred to in English as the World University Games or World Student Games; however, this latter term can also refer to competitions for sub-University grades students. In July 2020 as part of a new branding system by the FISU, it was stated that the Universiade will be officially branded as the FISU World University Games.
