Carlos Marinelli
Carlos Ariel Marinelli (born 14 March 1982 in Villa de Mayo, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine former footballer, who played as an attacking midfielder. Club career Boca Juniors Son of Héctor Marinelli, a former Boca Juniors player, Marinelli started off his youth career at Argentinos Juniors before being signed by Boca Juniors in a package of youth players that included names such as Juan Román Riquelme, Fabricio Coloccini and César La Paglia. Marinelli had only one reserve appearance against Independiente in August 1999 before being spotted by Middlesbrough when Boca's U-19 team played in Europe. Stephen McClaren (born 3 May 1961) is an English former professional footballer and coach who currently serves as an assistant coach for Premier League club Manchester United, in his second spell at the club. McClaren began his coaching career with Oxford United, before joining Derby County in 1995. In 1999, McClaren was hired by Manchester United as Brian Kidd's replacement as Alex Ferguson's assistant manager. He held that position for two years, until he was hired as manager of Middlesbrough. The 2001 South American U-20 Championship (Sudamericana sub-20) was a football competition contested by all ten U-20 national football teams of CONMEBOL. The tournament was held in Ecuador between January 12 and February 4, 2003, it was the 20th time the competition has been held and the 2nd to take place in Ecuador. Brazil won their 8th trophy. New Maradona or New Diego was a title given by the press and public to promising Argentine football players in reference (and reverence) to Diego Maradona as a benchmark.
